Hi there,
I downloaded the MSI version of the Orbiter 2016 yesterday. While installing, it gives me the error that you can see in the title. I tried to search for this error on the forums and on google but couldn't find one specifically related to Orbiter. I should mention that I have a copy of Orbiter 2010 installed on my laptop. But the FAQ of Orbiter says that we can install multiple versions of Orbiter, can't we?

Does that only work for zip versions and not for MSI?
I don't want to uninstall my existing Orbiter 2010, (if I compulsorily have to, is there a way to save my flights/settings?) and neither do I want to download another 2.5GB of zip version.

Are there any alternatives by which I can install Orbiter 2016 without uninstalling 2010? Maybe some registry changes to 'trick' 2016 installer that I don't have 2010 and then I would install 2016 on a completely different file path/directory/drive?

Please reply whenever possible. I apologize if this thread is not in the right place. Thank you.

Just use the Zip file version and unpack it in the directory of your choice. I remember reading if using the MSI package, you can't install two Orbiter's on a system.

If you really want to use the MSI installer, copy your old Orbiter 2010 directory to another location and then uninstall and then copy it back in. That should work fine.

The second solution seems better. I'll try it out. Thanks!

MSI installation instructions

Run the Orbiter2016.exe file after downloading. This will extract and launch the installer dialog which guides you through the installation process. This method installs Orbiter as a standard Windows application, and provides desktop shortcuts, a start menu entry and uninstall option. You can only install a single instance of Orbiter.
