Hello,

It's my first rocket for my fictionnal space agency "Sanders Aerospace".

This launcher can send a 12 Tonnes payload at 1000 km of altitude or 5 tonnes on lunar orbit.

Hi. This is a little review of two of your add-ons: this "Tetha Launcher" and your "Baker & Howland Island". First I want to say that they are to fine add-ons. I'm looking forward to see more from your agency! The Tetha rocket looks sharp and clean, and the islands are small and practical at low latitudes.
But as always, it is constructive criticism:
1) File packaging - somebody doesn't like to open the zip-file, for so to open a new folder which says the name of the add-on again, for so to open a new folder named Orbiter, and finally have the files in their respective Orbiter-folders (config, doc, meshes...).

2) Ocean tiles - i don't know if it is a bug, or it is intended, but I think that it looks a little bit weird. It would look cleaner if you removed the ocean tiles in the red circle (see picture attatched), and all the textures left resulted in a square.

3) Overpowered sattelite - the Vitosat has 1 000 kg with fuel and a main full thrust of 6 000 N, and I guess that is fair on a 10 000 kg sattelite, but I belive a specific impulse of 10 000 is too much. The Space Shuttle had a specific impulse of 316 and the Apollo CSM had 314, so I get a picture of that a regular spacecraft with liquid fuel has something between 0 and 1 000. The only spacecraft I can come to think about that has 10 000 is those with ion engines. They have a specific impulse of ± 30 000, but the engine only gives a thrust of <1…

4) Textures – both together, “Tetha Launcher” and “Bake & Howland Island” unpacked takes 90.1 megabytes of space. That is very much for a rocket, a satellite and two spaceports. After a closer look, the textures take 86.8 of these 90 megabytes. The surface tiles take 32.3 MB and I think that is OK. But the rocket's textures take 54.2 MB, covered by 22 dds files. The two textures which really suck the hard drive space is "tethast" 2 and 3. Both on 16.3 MB's (32.6 together), the picture only covers three stripes in red, white and blue. Both files are 2048x2048. And I belive that those to textures could be easilly downsized to 256x256 or below without any recognizable differences. I did it, and "voila", both textures together were 66 kilobytes large. Also, the "dark_grey" texture is 1 mb large, and doesn't have any details on it, so when I sized that down too, it also was 33 kb. Total three textures original 33 and a half mb's large, were compressed to 99 kb's (0.3 % of original) without any difference (see picture for before-after. The changed textures is from above the black line where my text is.)

Finally, I want to say that I enjoyed these add-ons. I had some serious FPS-drops during the launch-scenario. I don't know if it came from the rocket exhaust or the large textures, but the exhaust is cool, and it comes when you look back at the exhaust the ver first minutes of the launch. Engines and exhaust textures for the sattelite's main engine and RCS anwould be nice. Also, the usefullness for the Howard island can be discussed without runway or launch facility, but who cares, it khooool!:lol: I like the rocket, and the bases are exotic. Some small errors, but all in all, a fine project, so my rating is 4 out of 5 DeltaGliders for both the rocket and the bases.

Hello,

For the textures i can fix this when i will make a update.

Vitosat have ion engines, i will update the power of the truster.

Nice rocket!

I am just starting to learn how to make orbiter addons, I can launch it, and get it to stage, but once the second stage fuel is expened, nothing more happens. can you please tell me what I am doing wrong??

First, you have to remember to press "F", for jettison of the fairing. Then, press "J" to jettison your payload.

Looks really good. I did experience a CTD though after orbital insertion. Used the OPM to raise and circularize my orbit which went perfectly, however, when I pressed J to separate the satellite from the OPM, Orbiter crashed.

For some reason the log file does not contain any references - I think I must have fired up another scenario after that one. I'll run it again and see what happens.

Ok I did the launch scenario again and the same thing happened. Instant CTD as soon as press J to separate from the 3rd stage. My log is below. Looks like it is making some funky references to some unknown mesh.

Post the .ini file for the rocket. I'm willing to bet a carbonated beverage that the payload isn't being defined propery in the .ini file.

A similar problem happened during some projects of mine.
