Question Firefly 2011

I know that the Science Channel has been advertising "new Firefly episodes" only meaning new to their channel, and this has been confusing a lot of people.

I don't know if this is what you are referring to

No, I'm referring to a new Orbiter 2010P1 addon that is backward compatible with other versions of Orbiter and has a lot more features than the old Firefly release. I doubt if my machine will run it. I'll find out for sure shortly. The developer has other addons at the Hangar. He also has Galactica and other ships from the series modeled. One scenario is Galactica docked at ISS.

Sorry I don't have a link at the moment.
Here it is:

Oh, lol.

I guess I just figured because it was the the off topic forum you were talking about the show.

Hm... Should i remove older version for compatibility?

only if you want to.

you can not mix and match the old and the new but they can co-exist.

In other words you can not use the old mule with the new firefly or the new mule with old firefly. Same goes for the shuttles and skids.

Thx.

I've just been watched the "Firefly", then found a ship for Orbiter, and... new version appeared next week :)

So where can I get this new Firefly?

I've been through the whole site and can't find where to download it. I have found the page with instructions on how to install it, but no download link. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Never mind - found it! lol

That is what I was going to say...

From this website:

You may or may not need an account to access it.

You do need an account to get it, and it took me awhile to find the links for it plus some support vehicles. But then it's the little things that elude me. Plus there was some eula about people from Harvard and the surrounding area not being able to download it. I looked for a link or a post that would explain it but couldn't find any. I bet there's an interesting story behind that.

Is it compatible with the D3D9Client?

No you don't.
Main fleet downloads are open to the public.
You need an account to comment or get support if needed.

Although many members of the RTF Development Team visit this forum it is not guaranteed you will get any questions answered by us here unless we released it on OH. Which in this case we did not.

Is it compatible with the D3D9Client?
It is compatible with Orbiter release 2006P1, 2010 and 2010P1 with optional DLL files that provide spotlights in 2010P1.

Would someone kindly post this to O-H?
Will not happen.
I and only I will decide which of my add-ons get posted to OH.
Nobody and I do mean nobody has my permission to distribute my add-ons.

...so I take it I'm not the only one that couldn't find the download link.

Maybe I'm just retarded...

Edit: John, you can also "upload" a link to O-H, so that it's not actually being distributed there--the listing on O-H will just link to your page.
I know but then I would feel I have to support it through OF and that is something I don't want to do. In fact I have a few older add-ons that have been on OHM for quite a while and I intend to pull them so that I can do some updates. It's doubtful I will put them back up on OHM.

I think I see the reason for the confusion as to where the download is. The topic "Firefly 2011 Version" in the Firefly Verse board was misleading. Each ship has it's own topic and the "Firefly 2010 Version" topic was just an introduction to the ships. I have corrected this and there should be less confusion for those seeking the add-ons.
