OHM Vostok

It is intentionally left unpublished in the docs, to encourage researching :) - as the code is the same that was used in the real flight, and is relatively easy to find. And if not found - no problem, the lock is disabled in all Vostoks other than the first.

Bah i spoiled it again. Edited post. Though its some time from release so i its good to reveal as in there is at least two codes in public materials i found. Only one works. Hope you are not angry at me Igel. Just tried help fellow Vostok pilot.

BTW ordered this book:

No problem, at some point it will have to go out. At the same time, with and without it, Vostok is still fun - and as I see from the posts, not all "fun features" and "easter eggs" had yet been explored :)

I have that book and it's really awesome. If you want some really detailed stuff check out these two books by Asif Siddiqi: http://www.amazon.com/Sputnik-Sovie...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1300931725&sr=8-1 and http://www.amazon.com/Soviet-Space-...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1300931768&sr=1-1

I just have a minor technical nitpick about the Korabl Sputnik test flights; If I'm not mistaken Korabl-Sputnik 1 was the only spacecraft to carry the solar panels. Even more insignificant technical nitpick: the cells on the actual panels were circular, not rectangular as on almost all future panels.

Again this is a totally awesome addon and these comments are in no way meant to detract from it's greatness.

there's MORE easter eggs???

so far i've found:

****SPOILER ALERT*****

  • Food & Fish Cupboard
  • Floating Clipboard
  • The secret code. (which i know :P)

****END SPOILER****

What else is there???

I remember about three more... but those are not so obvious, and sometimes it is hard to draw the line between some cool "feature" that just happen to be rarely used (or noticed, or realized) and intentional "easter egg" :-)

Uhh :uhh:, the tension builds :uhh:.

Thanks for book tips. I will get those two for sure too. On wishlist now.

I *think* i may have found an easter egg BUT it might not be.

Once i pressed a button during final descent and another parachute opened an well as the pilots parachute, cant say which though and it wasnt in the manual.

Not an egg, but a touch of realism for Gagarin's flight.

Yes, that's not any "hidden" stuff, and it does not react to buttons, just a coincidence. This happens only in Gagarin's mission, and only because this is how it did work in real flight. Just for him, they decided him to open reserve canopy in addition to the main, to be on a safer side.

First at all: Awesome add-on. All my respects to you and your team.

Second: I have a bad news: VZOR module doesn't work on my distro. Once i launch Orbiter with VZOR module activated, tough it launches normally and even run the scenarios normally, approximatelly on an interval from 3 seconds to 25 seconds from the start, i lose control of my comuter and it freezes. I'm running it on the "Desktop A" computer (But with the very old nVidia Card, because a lightinig fried my ATIs) using a semi-clean orbiter installation (semi because there is only Vostok, my spacecraft3 ships and your add-ons).

Sadly i had to deactivate VZOR and the system didn't freeze since.

EDIT--------------------------------------

I tried on new instalations of Orbiter 2006P1 and 2010P1 and they worked well.

I have also had (less severe problems) with VZOR. When I'm in VC mode with the VZOR activated Orbiter says my framerate is fine (50-100, usually) but it seems as if I'm only at 10-15 fps.
