I watched your "Brighton Beach to Earth return" and I tried to apply it to a plan where I just ejected to the Moon (no free return) in low inclination, and want to return to Earth after a few orbits, but transx puts me automatically in "sling mode". I turned off "autoplan" but still can't understand how to just eject from the Moon using transx with these parameters. I used to be able to but I have lost so much knowledge it is very frustrating. Do you have a tutorial that covers this scenario?

If I understand correctly, you first went from Earth to moon, and did an orbit insert burn that has you now orbiting the moon. You want to at some point do a single eject burn that has you returning to Earth with intent to land on Earth so it must be to a low (atmospheric) Pe.

Yes TransX thinks your "plan" would be a sling since you have arrived and are leaving a body. You could use that or make autoplan off and change the plan to eject if you like. OR, what I would try is a simple maneuver instead of setting up a plan. For the maneuver I would start by placing the prograde velocity value at around 800 m/s and then adjust the date forward to "Ultra" increment to find the date that minimizes your Pe at Earth, then raise the prograde value gradually which lowers your Earth Pe and shoot for 65 Km agl.

If you are in a polar or highly inclined orbit as your starting point at the moon there is a fair chance that no date value will get you back to Earth low Pe. But even a polar orbit will have a couple of 2 or 3 day windows of opportunity to eject with a prograde burn back to Earth.

If it turns out the maneuver isn't working due to inclination of your orbit, and you don't want to wait a week or 2 for a window, you will have to do a plane change and it's probably best done with a plan, instead of playing 20 questions with hit and miss plane change as part of maneuver. (i might still give meaneuver a go though) For a plan, and sepoarating plane change from the eject burn it might involve 1000 m/s extra deltaV so if this is in your budget, go for it. You could set up a plan in this case, either sling or eject, but remember if you use sling you need to turn inherit velocity off, add and adjust the date to approximate the date you want to eject). A good sling velocity starting value is 800 m/s. If you use eject you can enter prograde as -800 m/s and remember to set the date to your prefered eject date too.

Usually if the scenario started with you in orbit, when you set up a plan in stage 2, then stage 1 will have the escape plan available as one of the views, with the white axis line et al. But since you are in the process of a "sling" it doesn't think of you as now just starting at the moon. You can either turn off and restart Orbiter or, in stage 1, setup, go through variables to find "Advanced" and turn it "On" then another variable in setup becomes available which is "plan type" and make it "Initial". This makes TransX think of your current situation as a starting stage and allows the escape plan to become visible as a choice of View.

In stage 1, view= escape plan, reduce the Pe of the plan to match your current orbit height, and rotate the eject orientation to reduce the relative inclination to minimum value. The minimum value might be a fairly large value still so be prepared to burn a bit of fuel at the axis (white line) to reduce relative inclination to zero before you do the eject burn. Or you might get lucky and have the relative inclination only at a few degrees and the plane change would then be minimal.
