Do I have to set up an account with Mibbit to use it? You can't just plug in your userid, the address for the server and go? Because I get the same message about not being able to look up my ident/hostname when using ChatZilla, but it goes on through anyway...

No account is required.

You can't just plug in your userid, the address for the server and go?

You can do that with mibbit.

ident is a IRC server function and nothing to do with mibbit or anything else. It is nothing to worry about.

That's what I do with Mibbit and it still won't work from college. It always gives an ident error message and doesn't go anywhere after that.

Anything after the ident? Have tried typing in /join #orbiter [ENTER] in box underneath the text?

Another option is: http://www.communicationtube.net/ . Click on the IRC tab, then enter a nick in the first box and irc.orbithangar.com:6667 in the second then click on #orbiter on the left hand menu.

some draw backs of this are: no logging, 'enter' key doesn't send message and no tab complete.

You can send using ctrl+enter though!

That is what I get too. Hence why I am careful to use different clients. The link in my previous post is another good app for web based clients.
