Michael Jackson dead at age 50

He made some great music.
I liked him for the music, could care less about the person himself.
 
Thats the only thing I like about him is his music. That ill give credit for
 
A freak of a man who I consider to be one hell of an entertainer with awesome dance moves & great music. Hated to see his personal life turn into what it did the last 10 or so years. Hard to believe he's gone. Sounds like he was really trying to put his past behind him. I was actually curious to see how his comeback tour was going to turn out. It's a shame we'll never know. Truly sad.
 
Fans in London are already asking about refunds for tickets they had purchased for his upcoming performances.

Funny how some people call themselves "fans", but yet their first thoughts after his death are only about money...
 
This is, honestly, not really a surprising news to me. This poor guy became a human wreck over the years, physical and psychical.

I like his music very much. I have all albums. Michael will stay alive almost like Elvis...

50's awful young to go, but he'll certainly leave a legacy.
 
One of the best of the 20th century. Him, Elvis, The Beatles. My favorite song was either Beat it or Thriller.
 
He's not exactly my era he's my of my sisters but he had great music and for all the weirdness in the 80s and 90s he was the forefront, but all in all he made some of the best songs and made South Park have someone to make fun off.

I don't see a reason not to ask about refunds for the tickets. Paid tickets don't make Michael alive again.
 
And the tickets have not really been a bargain. Also they don't ask Jacksons family for a refund (especially since these people are notoriously out of money), but the tour management.

It is a unbelievable thought that Michael Jackson died, but on the other hand, he lived much longer than many people I consider idols. Freddy Mercury died at only 45. And only the best die young.

Michael Jackson looked far older than just 50 in the last years to be honest, you had been able to see his flame die. He outlived himself. The Michael Jackson, which I want to remember, lived over 20 years ago. When I was proud to consider myself fan of him as a young child, when he was at the peak of his ingenuity. When my grandfather commented favorable on my dancing to Jacksons music. This is what I want to remember of him. Not what came after "Dangerous". Not the child abuse accusations, not the bad song writing, not the turning of himself into a caricature. When I was young, Michael Jackson was immortal. He received mortality later.

Will he leave a legacy? Sure. My favorite rock radio station lately played a song from his Thriller album, which I didn't hear for years. It was never released as single, never played often in the mainstream radio. But this one rocked. It was "just one song" of Michael Jackson, but it outshine most music which came after it. Sadly, also the music of Michael Jackson himself.
 
I liked him, when I was young. I've got his concert recorded on VHS. He had few cool songs. But... I think he overdosed painkillers. Let's wait for autopsy results...

That's a very detatched attitude. I think if they were true Jackson fans then the first thought that crossed their minds would not be to demand their money back.
 
it probably wasn't the first though that crossed their mind, but they had a few hours to think about it so it isn't surprising that it came up.
 
Why does it seem like all the great artists of the last century have just been dieing the last few years? George Carlin, Arthur C. Clarke, now MJ? Who's next? :(
 
I personally think MJ deep inside was still a boy trapped in a adults body.
I don't think the majority of people understood him ( or tried to understand him because his way of thinking is so way off from mainstream thinking), and people took advantage of this.

I think when the alligations were brought out against him it was the final "nail in the coffin" that snuffed his flame out.

I loved his music and feel somewhat sad for the lost life he could have had if things had gone a little different and people wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

I also feel bad for our "Charlie's Angel" whose death has been totally overshadowed by Michaels death.
