I listen to so much of the same music while orbiting, I've kinda gotten to associate it with Orbiter. This is my current "orbiter" playlist, a mix of Ambient-Industrial and Volk Rock.

In Extremo - A Vis Lo Lop
Reaktor - And No One With Me
Laibach - Nova Akropola
Yggdrasillsþyltá - Yule Twilight
Wartides - Valkyries Arrive
In Extremo - Poc Vocem
Ensiferum - Finnish Medley
Laibach - Life is Life
In Extremo - Krummavísur
Andlang - Þurísaz
Laibach - Trans-Nazional

But that would be illegal. All my music is fully legal, just like my copy of Maya Unlimited...

I've just found some great smilies! :n00b:

I'm sure I'll find a lot of use for them...

Just found my Joe Diffie CD and ripped it to my computer, so now I can put "Third Rock From The Sun" on my play list.

'Twould be a good song for re-entry.

I've discovered that songs by The Clash work really well for me, as does Tinariwen (the Tuareg band from Timbuktu. It's making me seriously question my own aesthetic. . .

Classical music sometimes, but mostly movie themesongs, such as the soundtrack from "The Rock" (written by Hans Zimmer). It makes for good music for exciting things such as ascents, reentries, and intercepts.

Totally agree! In fact I used this soundtrack for an Orbiter film I made, DG to ISS.

My current playlist:

1. Barber - Agnus Dei
2. Strauss - Blue Danube Waltz
3. Khachaturian - Gayane Ballet Suite
4. Ligeti - Lux Aeterna
5. Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata, first movement.

Mostly classical and soundtracks. The classical depends on my mood, but I tend towards more sombre stuff. The Firefly/Serenity soundtracks get a lot of use, and I'll pull up specific stuff if it fits the situation, such as Blue Danube for rendezvous and docking, or the Halo theme for orbit insertion at Jupiter. And being the Trekkie that I am I'll throw in some Steppenwolf from time to time just for a change of pace.

While we are on classical music, The Waltz of the Snowflakes from The Nutcracker is always good.

And some more little known music:

Anything by Streetlight Manifesto, Barenaked Ladies and Tool.

also, i recommend Stahlhammer ("In the air tonight", "Der Mann mit dem Koks") and Gamma Ray (all fast songs of them). "The prophets song" by queen is also pretty ambient for Orbiter.
