This isn't the place to get support for FSX, but the folks on the other FSX forums aren't all that helpful. Basically, after I installed FSX Acceleration, I go to Flight Planner, find a starting airport, click OK, and the game freezes. If I can get past that part by sheer luck, I have Destination Airport pulling the same trick. Loading a pre-created flight plan does the same thing too. A new graphics card didn't help at all, and I can't install the SP2, even though it says

English

Flight Simulator X Service Pack 2 addresses these post-release customer concerns (see the Readme file for details):
  • Multiplayer compatibility with Flight Simulator X: Acceleration
  • DirectX 10 preview
IMPORTANT: If you have already installed Flight Simulator X: Acceleration expansion pack, do not install Service Pack 2.

It really blows. I can't do proper airline flights anymore. If anyone else had this problem and fixed it, please help?

Very simple.
Install FSX, install SP2, install Acceleration. Just as "IMPORTANT: If you have already installed Flight Simulator X: Acceleration expansion pack, do not install Service Pack 2." suggests.

Yeah, but it also says "If you install SP2, then get Acceleration, uninstall SP2 first" I was just thinking "Oh crap, now what?"

Just as TSPenguin said, uninstall everything and then reinstall in the proper order. It will take a while, since both FSX and Acceleration are very large, but it will be worth your time if you can get back to flying the heavy metal flight lines we all secretly love and cherish.

(Actually I was always more of a bush flyer...)

I had a similar issue, I un-installed and re-installed. That got it to work, Haven't played it in a while. to obsessive Orbiter and SSM2007 (mostly orbiter)

I had this same problem with I first installed FSX. I ended up calling M$ and they fixed it. The support is free for the first 30 days.

I wouldn't advise uninstalling SP2. I've never done it, but every time my bro did it, it kinda destroyed Windows.

I think they mean SP2 for FSX, not Windows XP SP2.

I currently run on XP SP3, without problems, though the new security features are more annoying than useful.
