Hi, I recently got a new computer, and orbiter works fine, mostly. However, whenever I load the XR2, all the places on the body where a custom skin should go are black, and on the XR5, they are white. I've had the XR5 working before on other computers, so I know this is an issue with the computer, rather than the addons. Can anybody give any advice?

Yes, it does happen on a clean install + OrbiterSound + UMMU + XR2/XR5.

Also, please double-check that the "Always enumerate devices" checkbox is checked and that you choose a video mode that has T&L support.

Well it's a virtual machine, so it's specs are a bit hard to quantify, but, here's my best shot:

CPU - 1 virtual 32 bit CPU, on a host with an Intel Core 2 Duo (64 bit, dual core).
RAM - 1 GB allocated out of 4 GB on the host (probably not a limiting factor).
Disk space - 100 GB allocated (probably not a limiting factor).
Video card - No virtual video card (experimental support for this is available, but the one time I tried it, it crashed the host). The host has an nVidia Quadro FX 360M. (this is probably the problem)

With or without "Always enumerate devices" checked, the only thing in the menu is "RGB emulation". I suppose this is the issue. Is there any way around this, no matter how resource hungry it might be?

Unforunately you cannot run 3D apps in a virtual machine, at least in any virtual machine that I have ever used. That's why only RGB Emulation is available. The video emulation performed by the virtual machine is almost certainly the problem (very limited texture memory, if it works at all), and actually I'm surprised that Orbiter runs at all in a virtual machine. Sorry for the bad news...

I am also having the same issues. I run on a Duo 1.6 laptop, nv7800, vista32. Actually it's the only addon that I have had a problem with. I also have the issue with my desktop model as well. P4 ati x850 on xppro.

I have did a wipe and clean installed of orbiter and related files. Winzip for some reason is givign an error near the end of extraction and I don't have the time to download 60+ 2mb parts for winrar.

If the zip file is corrupt then it is a problem somewhere between your computer and godaddy.com where the XR files are hosted. 99% of the time problems like that are due to intermittent Internet connection problems on the user's end, so all you can do is download the RAR parts and then combine and extract them via WinRar. Each RAR file except the final one should be exactly 2,048,000 bytes. Or you can try downloading the zip files from a different Internet connection that is more stable.
