By default that is, It can be disabled if the developer so wishes (I think for example several space station modules found on Mustards site have done this).

All the Ummu compatable station modules on Mustards site I have tried you can use Esc to bail out

Doug clearly said that there won't be any sort of ejection mechanism.

^^ The reason for this is (to complete what willy88 started) that ejection seats in a Learjet-type spaceplane are not realistic. IRL, an ejection would instantly kill the elderly, and passengers with various bone diseases.

What would the elderly and bone diseasers be doing on a rocket plane in the first place?

You'll probably be able to bail out of the XR2 much like you would the XR5. All you need to do is dump all fuel in lower altitude and lower speed and set trim to maximum and open the docking port and EVA everyone out the door. That's how I'd escape the shuttle in real life if I were in that situation when landing isn't possible.

yes you will be able to bail out, no there will not be ejection seats, for all the reasons that others have pointed out... there are very good reasons why you don't find ejection seats in learjets or commercial airliners... these reasons surely only multiply when you have a "learjet" that flies in hypersonic and orbital envelopes.

this has all been discussed before btw!

And just in case anyones wondering(urwumpe?), yes this ship is UMMU compatible;)

and yes, the advantage of a spaceplane as opposed to a rocket is that the forces can be reduced and i'm sure you could take the elderly and whoever into space. Just go easy on the gas... so no +3g rocket and scram ascents when grandmas on board!:)

maybe that could be a mission, err, scenario, or part of one... make it into orbit or whatever without exceeding X amount of G forces.

Hi Coolhand,

nice to meet you too ;). Just wanted to ask: Did you read my previous postss (ie. #422) and so on?

Just wanted to make sure of this, because I said there, that I like your and Doug's work and also there is still the remaining cookie for you :P

So get it before it is spoiled :).

Cheers ,

try to make it compatible with the beta plz cz i use only the beta

but not allot of people use that so there is no point making ing it work with that

but "that beta" will be the not-so-distant future version of orbiter... always nice to have "forward compability"

oh ok Never knew that
