a shot of the VC. still static at this stage, it will be fully functional eventually.

This VC includes at least one optional extra feature.

I have never seen a cockpit that comes within even a Kilometer of that! If any cockpit were to be award winning ths would be it!

Furry Dicez FTW!

Good stuff dude. Absolutely great.

Yes, the fuzzy dice are controlled by this setting in XR2RavenstarPrefs.cfg:

Code:
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Enable or disable the fuzzy dice in the VC
#
# 0 = fuzzy dice disabled (default)
# 1 = fuzzy dice enabled
#--------------------------------------------------------------------------
EnableFuzzyDice=0

Amazing work you have done.
The detail is astonishing! Everything seems so fine tuned and well thought of.
This is clearly the best original work i've ever seen for orbiter.
The cockpit is nice too...

Furry Dice Group

Oh, Idea, get a DG mesh, shrink it down a LOT and replace the fuzzy dice with a model DG - i actually feel like getting one of those for when i get a car....

BTW, i don't know how hard it would be to code, but if you made the fuzzy dice point towards the ships resultant acceleration vector EG: straight down on earth, bobbing around in orbit, and pointing backward during a main engine burn it could even be used as a navigational tool.

Oh yes, and a fuzzy dice 'button' in the VC (actually a little shelf with the dice strapped down) would be nice - click on it, and you place the dice on the cocpit beam, click on the dice, they go back to the shelf.

THAT would be awesome

Yeah i had the idea to make them react to the forces acting on the ship a while ago. Nothing i can do about it though... again, i'll say if anyone wants to do it, they can have the geometry i've made and make it an addon for any vessel they want, as long as it works in the ravenstar too.;)

also, if i had enough guaranteed orders of a ravenstar model, i could get physical models - very small models about maybe 60mm in length produced, i build a lot of digital prototypes for collectable miniatures companies and it wouldn't be too difficult to make a digital prototype from my low poly model... but there would have to be quite a lot of interest to make it worthwhile, they're fairly expensive to 'print' and make copies of.

No cup holder ?

There is a program called Pepakura designer (or close to that) that will make a paper folding model out of a 3D image/mesh. Share/free ware

If ever there were a cockpit deserving of a corresponding simpit, this is it. Fanastic design! I was also thinking you should get a physical print of your model, even before today.

Awesome! Can you make a VC for the XR5 when you're done with this?

Actually, I'd rather work on the XR7 than an XR5 mk II. The plan is for the XR7 to have all the functionality of the XR5, plus a VC. But that is long-term...Steve and I may end up creating an add-on hypersonic plane for FSX or X-Plane first.

I'm still going to be waiting for the XR0. :-D
