I predicted that the World Cup final would be Holland vs. a team that will lose to Holland. I'm standing by it, too. Hup Holland Hup
 
I thought the final would be Dutch vs Deutsch but that takoyaki meatball "decided" otherwise, but I'm rooting for Nederland anyway, Hup Holland Hup
 
What a time of changes... not only Günther Netzer will retire as TV commenter after the world cup, also Paul will retire, since he has reached his octopodean retirement age at the age of two. But not before teaching his successor. Maybe we should have a TV show with the omnipresent Uri Geller, called "Germanies next spineless oracle"

Anyways, that was a bit of an exciting match- really open and fast. Fun to watch. I didn't like the crowd's booing of Suarez, but I can understand where they were coming from.

Hopefully the final is a classic tomorrow, hup Holland hup

Congratulations to Spain and all the other nations that competed in the world cup; there was really some great and entertaining football played here.

Being a host nation is certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience; the atmosphere here really was amazing and how well everything played out from a national hosting perspective really makes me feel patriotic. :)

It's almost the grand prize; hosting the tournament. Of course, now the nationwide withdrawl symptoms will start to set in... :lol:
 
Well, my German friends were right when they said the Netherlands - Uruguay game was the "Spiel um zweiten Platz*". Unfortunately, they were wrong about first place.

Congratulations to Spain, but the second best awards go to Germany :lol:

Thomas Müller got awarded not only the best young player of the tournament, but also got the golden boot trophy as best scorer. Sadly, we had to let the golden Ball go to Diego Forlan, but well... it is not like he did not deserve it.

Anyway, let me be the first Dutchman, congratulating al spanish people here.
Although close, the team deserved the win.
