Romanian as my native language, German quite well and English - well I guess you can see by yourself, right? :)

Also, I can understand basic Spanish or Italian as my native language is very similar to them.

Czech (native)
Slovak (Czechs and Slovaks understand each other, mostly)
English (fluent)
German (vaguely)
French (uhh, non, je ne parle pas français bien ) (very vaguely)

And phonetically: various Russian words

I can speak Russian, read and sometimes write lame English (talk too, but there is not enough practice - nobody to speak with).

Also, some japenese words, and four(!) words in German ("nicht verstehen" and two more).

My native is English

I've been working vigorously at German for about 6 months now, I really like it, and i'll be taking it in university in the fall!

Native Russian, fluent English, broken French.

Don't remember much of Chinese and Japanese, for lack of use over the three years since this thread was made.

Take a spade, honored archaeologist :)

- Native : French, I usually make no grammar or syntax errors. I'd say I have a good vocabulary.
- Can read/write English, and understand a conversation. Terrible at speaking.
- Learned German, but have problems with the grammar ! :P
- Able to roughly understand a text in Spanish. Helpless in understanding a conversation (too fast !!). :uhh:
- Some words in Latin (same grammar problems than with German).
- Wants to learn Russian (at least written).

Native English, decent amount of French (haven't done much with it in the past 3 years, should probably try and keep it going at some point), small amount of Spanish, negligible amount of German, and same for Ancient Greek. (Re)doing Pre-U Latin to get a higher grade right now, so a decent amount of knowledge there, I guess. Later this year going to start Arabic at university, but already know some to a very low conversational level.

Oh, and I know one word of Maltese. ;)

Native: Portuguese
Fluent: English (and doing nothing on English classes)
Learning: Russian (basic grammar, poor vocabulary), French (learning in school, same as Russian with better vocabulary and grammar)

Can (not very well) understand our neighbours in Spain, but can't speak it.
I would also love to learn German and Italian.
