Translators needed!

Hi all,

This is a request for help from the ISSU team to anyone in the Orbiter community who feels they can.

We need translators. For our ISSU website, we want all pages mirrored in different languages. We are going to have English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Italian pages. I can do English, and we have people on the team who can handle Italian and possibly Russian.

We really need translators for:
. France
. Germany
. Spain

We would send you what we wanted to say in English, then you could translate into appropriate language and send back.

Translators will need to be available to translate daily updates and blog's also.

Translators will need a good understanding of English, as well as a good understanding of their other language.

If you feel you can help, please, post below.

Thanks!

-ISSU team.

Pete and ISSU

I would be happy to help you with Spanish translations of documents and pages. But I can't possibly commit to daily blogs, my workload is too variable for that, with occassional absences. Please PM me if you think that's any help.

English - Native

French - I can get the gist of most text pretty well, though to understand the exact meaning I need a dictionary. A native speaker would probably be able to understand my writing, though grammatical errors would be inevitable, and I would need a dictionary for anything of reasonable complexity. I don't know how well I could hold up a conversation, though if the other party spoke slowly and was patient, I could probably manage.

I know some random words and phrases in German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Japanese (in no particular order), but that's not worth much except perhaps for getting a smile someone who speaks one of those languages and English.

And of course there's the cliché and not quite on topic answer that I'm also fluent in C, C++, Perl, Python, Verilog, MATLAB, and a host of other similar things.

I can sort-of (barely) understand some French, but all that I know is from the backs of cereal boxes (quite literally, sadly).

I Just Know English

Native: Russian
Fluent: Latvian (Latviešu)
Quite good (I think): German, English
Some basic phrases & words: Latin

But I find programming languages far more interesting and useful that the people languages ;)
