What do you do for a living?

Well I have a degree in "Engineering Design and Applied Mechanics" from Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
My job title is "Technical designer" my work is to design complex mechanical systems.

so if any of you need a insanely overly complex way of opening your garage door, let me know and I'll come op with some thing for you :coffee:

I didn't know they were that strict about everything. I've got the same situation as you except that they probably won't let me in because of color blindness. :P But I want to be a pilot anyways.
Lol, please don't take this the wrong way, but that reminds me of Dwayne from Little Miss Sunshine. If you want to get a pilot's license, I'm not sure if you can get a physical, BUT there's the sport rating now. It's cheaper than a Private Rating, and you don't need a physical (unless you used to have one, but failed a medical exam). I might have to get that because I have ADHD.

I can get a private pilot's license, but I just might have a couple restrictions.
My grandfather and his brother were colorblind but cheated the test to get into the Air Force. XD I don't think I'd try that though.
Unrelated: I never saw that movie til the other day. :P

If you get a PPL and are colorblind, I'm pretty sure the restriction you'll have is "no night flight or flight directed by light guns"--given that one of the big advantages of the PPL over the sport pilot license is the ability to fly at night, you might as well get a sport pilot license instead, I think.

Thanks for that, had never heard of them.
Friend restores between and post WWII Leica cameras and uses ebay a lot. Looks similar.

Yeah, its similar for the task, but you mostly find small handmade things there.

I'm a retired electrical engineer. I wrote process control software for 35 years. I hung up my keyboard 5 years ago.

I'm a product development engineer for a company that makes high performance synthetic rope.

Well, if nobody wants to wait for the 10 years without actually answering the question, here one update. ?

I am lead developer for PLM software in the automotive sector, mostly Java (EE) and Python.

I am sort of a part-time investor. That is my hobby. I research different assets, their potential and then decide whether to invest in them or not. At the moment I study Economics at Manchester University and try to do some trading :)

I think most of you groovy dudes know that I work (lol... "work") at a nuclear power plant as an instrument mechanic, but now that our recent outage is complete, I'm moving to the training department.
We have an apprentice class starting this spring, and I'll only be interacting with them a bit. My primary responsibility is continuing training and maintaining our accreditation level with INPO.
I'm also a dayshift only guy now. Not sure how you daywalkers do it. Walking around, while the sun is shining and stuff... I have to run from shadow to shadow, I'm worried that if I spend too much time in direct sunlight I'll burst into flames. I've been a midnight shift worker for nearly 15 years.
