Well, this isn't for a "living" perse (I gots my parents for that ;)). But I work in my school's technical department doing support stuff. I should be going to college next year (unless that satellite causes a cataclysmic thermonuclear implosion which sucks the entire planet into a subspace vortex...where was I going with this?) and after four years there, I hope to get a job with SpaceX in computer networking.

I'm a PhD student working on an EU grant at Københavns Universitet. My project is to correct (angularly and atmospherically) Meteosat data with an aim of generating a 3 year dataset for use in climate research. I also work for NASA/SSc as flight personnel responsible for crew safety aboard parabolic flights.
Only one year left on my PhD, so I have to try and find a proper job soon :D

I am an electrical engineer working for an engineering consultancy firm in Sydney, Australia (right here, in fact). Our speciality is building services - lighting, power, comms cabling, HVAC, water and drainage, vertical transportation, fire detection and suppression - that sort of thing. I dabble in all of those but lighting, power, comms cabling, and fire detection are my main areas of work.

I fly hang gliders on my days off. And also on my days on. For work I usually take up first timers for tandem hang glider flights. Or help them at the practice hill learn to fly on their own. Beyond that there's a lot of volunteer work maintaining the local flying site whether it's driving a tractor or a lawn mower, or fixing sprinklers raking rocks or designing water collection systems in the mountains to help water the lawn. But by night I am a closet orbinaut. :)

edit: hey tblaxland, I spent a summa (my winta, your summa) doing tandem flights a bit south of you in stanwell park. Sydney's a great place!

Okay, let it pass for an acquaintance. I'm working for a large international bank in its Moscow office. I'm an IT staff, an application support. My job is to look after some core bank applications and keep the gears greased. I'm also doing some development work. Unfortunately, combined with my family life it does'nt leave much time for playing orbiter and such.

I'm just a simple student, doing an MSc in Applied Physics. Being a student doesn't really pay well (in fact you have to pay for it), and the government funding has stopped already (at the time when I should have finished my study) so I am building up huge debts. I also have some part-time jobs, all of them are related to computer programming (e.g. I am developing a simple but very cool and geeky CAD application).

Wow, some interesting careers here :)

I am a GIS Specialist and draftsman for an electric and gas company. I keep graphical record of all the natural gas mains and equipment in the state. I am also taking courses in Astrology with hopes to practice the art either for a full time living or at least additional income as part time work in the future.

currently planing a small social developement project in Bosnia after I have been there before with another team. It's not exactly "for a living", since we couldn't get along wouldn't it be for friends supporting us.
