Currently reading "The History of the Ancient World: From the Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome" by Susan Bauer. It's an interesting, fairly broad overview of ancient and pre-historical cultures, people, and nations.

There was a poll on Slashdot about books that the users read. The last option was:

- What's a non programming book?

I just finished Darkly Dreaming Dexter, about a serial killer who has trained himself to satisfy his urges by targeting other serial killers. He works as a forensice specialist for the Miami police department. Creepy, and witty, but not my favorite.

I just started A River Runs Through It by Norman MacLean. I've seen some of the movie, but I want to see how the book measures up. Besides, I think I'll like this one because it talks about fly fishing in Montana (I'm an outdoors kind of guy ).

Re:

Just finished Rogue Male by Geoffrey Household. Would like to see the 1976 film based on the book. It stars Peter O'Toole as the main character.

OFMM people will be pleased to know that I finally got around to picking up when I dropped by the bookstore the other day.

Also, it's not really related, but look at what a friend found for me on a trip to the flea market!! :woohoo:

I just finished all of Cerebus, an epic length (6000 page) graphic novel by Dave Sim.. I'm rereading Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, my favorite book. Also last night, while messing around with APT, I discovered a command line King James bible, so I've been reading that in lieu of an actual bible.

'Misfire', 1980's techno-thriller by Jonathan Evans that seems to have been inspired by the OTRAG affair.

I'm presently reading three books:

1) "Back to the Moon" by Homer Hickam (Fiction) - Interesting work involving a hijacked shuttle flight to the moon.
2) "The Demon In The Freezer" by Richard Preston (Non-Fiction) - Terrifying book about SmallPox and it's potential as a bioterror weapon.
3) "America Alone" by Mark Steyn (Non-Fiction) - A truly frightening look at demographics.
