I've been mucking around with Orbiter for a few days now, and so far it's been quite fun.
The big problem I'm having though is that the text in the VOR/VTOL MFD seems to be shifted to the left by quite a bit, making the distance and HSPD unreadable:

This screenshot was taken in the Brighton Beach scenario

I've noticed that the text is in the correct place when changing to the VOR/VTOL MFD and shifts to the left afterwards. The time until it shifts seems to be affected by time warp (that is, it takes longer until it shifts when in 0.1x warp).

My specs are:
OS: Debian Linux w/ Awesome WM (I set up Orbiter according to this tutorial, I didn't install all the addons though)
CPU: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz
RAM: 2GB DDR2
GPU: Geforce 6600
Screen resolution: 1360 x 768
Sound: Intel Corporation NM10/ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller

Addons:
  • Orbiter Sound 4.0
  • Map 3D MFD
  • Videnie
  • (D3D9 Client, if that counts as addon)
Enabled Modules:
  • D3D9 Client
  • transx
  • Map3DMFD
  • OrbiterSound
  • Framerate
  • ScnEditor
High-Res graphics:
  • C Sphere
  • Planets and moons
If I remember correctly, the problem existed without these as well though.

My Orbiter.log after launching Orbiter_ng.exe, launching into the scenario, changing the right MFD to COM/NAV, setting NAV1 to 132.50 MHz, quitting first Orbiter and then the launchpad:

What could cause this?

Same thing

:ditto: I get the same thing.

I am using orbiter.exe and running on a mac using wineHQ, but interesting someone else had the same issue on orbiter.ng with a PC many years ago.
It's fine when first selected but any button selection sees the displayed text shift left and cutoff the first few characters.
Anyone else have this issue?

1360 x 768 is a non-standard resolution. Try running in windowed mode and see if you can find something that works. (e.g. 1024 x 768).

No change with different resolutions or windowed/fullscreen.
