That's a no-brainer to anyone who knows something about aeroplanes. :P

The myth probably arose because people are used to the propulsion of cars, which is directed completely through the wheels. A propeller exerts force through the air, not the ground, so the motion of the tarp underneath had little more effect than taking off from a rougher surface. A car on the other hand would have more difficulty.

Now this is easy to say ;)

The pilot (like lots of others) even believed in the myth and in the past we've seen discussions in the Orbiter Forums consisting of two minds. But it's definitely over now

PS: damn, I remember that back then I wanted to write an email to Mythbusters. I didn't because I thought that they won't do it anyway. But obviously the myth was big enough though.

Turn this up as loud as you can. Then, if you dare, open youtube in multiple tabs and play this. Warning: you are about to subject your brain to some serious abuse:

Nice idea. I always liked the more electronic/Nakanishi-esque music in the Ace Combat series (Anyone remember Electrosphere??). The orchestral stuff was also good, but in AC 6 they really overdid it. >_>

One thing I'd like to see is the music during the battle at Selumna Peak replaced with "Blockade" from AC04.

Well, I got the main idea from this series
He uses songs from 4, 5, and Zero, so you might find it there.

Alan Shepard receiving the NASA Distinguished Service Award from John F. Kennedy. Can't remember to have ever seen such high quality footage of JFK speaking. Those were the days...

The following is a case of miscalculation. The pilot significantly overshoot the touchdown zone and still tried to land nearly on the touchdown zone of the other end of the runway. I would expect to happen something like this by flight simulator fan boys like me, but not by a real pilot. The short runway and the approach over the hill at the St. Barth airport is no excuse in this case...

The airport in MS FS2004, a very nice scenery:

Wow. I've been that long in FSX on my home airport a couple of times. No brainer though, I went around :P He made a bad choice.

Top Gear test Communist cars (in two parts) :P

Seriously, two kinds of cars I ever drove were my father's Moskvitch and Lada. Since then, I can see no point in driving a car, and bought myself a bicycle.

I think, the Niva was tested in a lame way, though. They should have put several other SUV's into the same puddle and see if they could crawl out.

Okay, this is a two-parter. Watch the first one. It's no big deal but kind of funny. A goat that sounds like a dude yelling.

Now watch the inevitable Remix. If you do not find this funny, it's because you're smarter than me:
