Hardware tweaking the monitor size on laptop

HI,I run my laptop 1440x900,and it runs great,but some of the ships cockpits,are a little bit too large for the screen,so in other words some of the text runs off the screen.I could always fix this problem on my other desktop computer by tweaking the Ver,and,Hor,zoom,ect,ect.Is there a way to do this on my lap top monitor,also.Thanks

There is an option in the launch pad / control panel to adjust this a little. It is also talked about in the manual. Look for "panel scale". Page 15. This might help.

Try that first, then play with the computer's video settings.
