Sorry if the title is a bit misleading, but I can"t think of a good one for my question: If NASA offered you the chance to go into Earth orbit, walk on the Moon and/or be the FIRST to walk on Mars, but you will not be able to return home to Earth. Sadly, you will have to die on the surface or in the craft.
Would you do it?
Personally, I would do it. The view of our home, our cradle of life, a mere speck in the distance would be better than winning the lottery. On the side you could be the first human to die on a different planet.
Feel free to branch off into how the cost of space travel influences politics, taxes and presidential races.
