Well, a university in german decided to use only the female generic titles... It is "Herr Professorin" there now instead of "Frau Professor".

Because in most Western cultures, skirts are not typical men's attire. It's also an amusing way of circumventing a ban on something. :shrug:

Actually the Romans believed well into the 2nd or 3rd century I think that pants were barbaric. And you have to say it's logical, wearing pants at 40° in Rome vs wearing skirts? But when Romans end up in Britannia it could have become quite...uncomfortable.
