STS-127 Updates

Here is a speeded-up video of the launch showing the debris events:

Has NASA picked up on any correlation between number of scrubs/detankings and foam shedding events?

Wake up was right on time for Endeavour, the song ''Here comes the sun'' by The Beatles was played for CDR Mark Polansky. It's gonna be a good day.

Does anyone know if the SRB cam video has been released? or do we have to wait for recovery for it.

OK, today's the big day - EF (Exposed Facility) installation onto JPM (Japanese Pressurised Module), and EVA-1!!!!!

SSRMS grapples the EF at 2:38pm GMT/UTC.

SSRMS will install the EF onto the JPM at 9:38pm GMT/UTC.

Very complex robotics operations will be required to install the EF onto the JPM:
. The SSRMS (Space Station RMS) will grapple the EF and lift it out of the Shuttle's payload bay.
. The SSRMS will hand the EF off to the SRMS (Shuttle RMS).
. The MBS (Mobile Base System) with the SSRMS attached will then relocate to another worksite.
. The SRMS will hand the EF back over the SSRMS.
. The SSRMS will then install the EF onto the JPM.

The big challenge will be mating the two EFBM's (Exposed Facility Berthing Mechanism's) together. This mechanism connects the JPM and EF. Once the EF is attached to the JPM, the necessary resources, such as power, data and command communications and thermal control (coolant), will be provided from the JPM.

The active EFBM is on the JPM:

The passive EFBM is on the EF:

EVA-1 officially begins at 3:58pm GMT/UTC, and is planned to end at 10:28pm GMT/UTC.

EVA-1 will be performed by Wolf and Cassidy.
The planned duration is 6 hours 30 minutes.

EVA-1 tasks:

• JPM/EFBM (Exposed Facility Berthing Mechanism) prep
• ICC-VLD prep
• CETA cart modification
• Japanese robotic arm maintenance
• Exposed facility experiment prep
• P3 nadir UCCAS and S3 Zenith outboard PAS deploy

This is getting ridiculous

I was looking at the new photos of the crew downlinked today, and there was one picture of Cassidey and Wolf on the mid-deck. I officially now get the word High-Definition. There was a small book floating around and i could clearly see the print of the book:)
I mean its just getting shockingly clearer in space. Sorry i dont know if this should go into the random thread comments or this, so moderator move at your own free will.

In my opinion, the higher the definition, the better! :)

You can never have too much definition....

Almost textbook landing from Endeavour today as she landed back at KSC. Fantastic mission delivering more Japanese components to the ISS.

Endeavour has been spotted in OPF Bay 2! Official time was 4:43 pm EDT. Now proceeding with tow bar disconnect and grounding the purge and coolant transporters.
