I've been working on a station project, well not too much really. Thus far I've managed to launch mir2 which is the center of what I'm working for and it's orbiting with the same inclination as original mir was at an Apoapsis of 400km and Periapsis of 398km or so. I've also launched a DGIV there to bring the first expedition to the station and to serve as an escape vehicle of sorts and it should be there some time saturday, unless something unexpected happens.

The problem is now to send moar modules in there! I've so far planned very little, but I am to send at least two habitation modules there and the question is with what?

I've been using Energy quite a bit, but in my experience aligning planes with spacetugs is pretty much way too hard for me, atleast with the autopilot (it tends to just roll around untill it runs out of fuel still pretty close to prograde. Are there any tips for that or do I just do it manually and hope I'm doing it right?

The other plan is to use default shuttle, but I have so far no idea how to stick anything in it (Hopefully I could figure it out by studying the atlantis scenarios) the other thing is I can't land it.... but I don't need to tell that to the crew now do I?

for big ships like the space tugs the autopilots dont work very well. they get it rotating so fast that they cant stop it in time so they waste a large amount of fuel. try to get as close to the desired orientation manually and then let the autopilot fine-tune it. you could also pulse the autopilot by switching it on, waiting 5 seconds, then using killrot, repeat, etc.

Hope this is what you needed

I'll do a test run tonight and see what happens, thanks for the tip!

if you can fly the default shuttle then you could use attachment points to add modules to the payload bay. but using attachment points can be difficult at times.
there is a much simpler and faster way. [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3262"]Universal Cargo Deck[/ame] makes things so easy, its almost scary.

This is how I fly cargo with the Shuttle, much easier than fighting with attachment points.
