Space Shuttle Ultra development thread

There's a problem with the labels: the label texture seems to be flipped somehow, so all the text drawn is mirrored (see image below). The text is also drawn too high at the moment, but that's because I haven't fixed the drawing code yet.

Label drawing code is working (except for the mesh problems) and is checked in.

I'm on it.

And that is now fixed. How about making the MDU edge key boxes disappear when you turn the MDU off? When the MDU is powered off, the entire screen is supposed to be black, the edge key boxes do not show up.

I am sure it can be done... but I need a few hours today for making my computer graphics assignment for this week, before I can resume working on the FSS lights and the tire spin. Also I think about making the DLL for the MDD this weekend, but I am not sure if I will have the time.

Done.

Do we still want to divide the VC in two ?

Do we still want to divide the VC in two ?

Yes, but after the next release... I think we can't do this to the people... just think about the children! The Children!

I think you're stuck on the youtube porn thread.

Donamy, am I correct in understanding that you already did more detailed SSME's yourself? I was only wondering since you did not yet reply to my PM, if you'd got mad at me. I am sorry for being so slow. Are you still interested in my version of the SSME?

I am fine with whatever you decide regarding the meshes.

I set Ambient Light level to 0(for simulate realistic night in space). So when night begins, mesh illuminates:

IMO, mesh illuminate should be switched off after SRB sep.

How close are we to implement vehicle assembly ops?

How close are we to implement vehicle assembly ops?

About one release away. (Let's get this one out of the VAB first)

I don't think we would encounter serious problems with the plain assembly, but a turnaround after a mission could become more bug prone (For example exchanging custom panels) currently.

Would also be nice if we could add SRB recovery in this stage then.

But still... just from roughly splitting this feature into work items, I get over 50 possible work items, which would have to be implemented for the task.

OK; Something for the landing: how about in orbiter-only config the throttle control(NumPad +/-) could be used to throttle the speedbrake?

Could be done, we should maybe make a tightly moderated thread with feature suggestions for version 1.26 to collect them. I think priority should be advancing towards a new release, ideally before Christmas.

Would also be nice if we could light the sole orbiter when flying at night lower than x m altitude - as if it is illuminated by the massive flood lights around the runway.

From my POV I would like to see the following items included:

-Fix for the FPS drain bug!
-Full animation of the LC-39A elements(FSS arms and OWP, RSS OWPs)
-Sound for RSS Rotation ops
-Hydrogen burn-off flare stack flame
-Motion-less venting of the SSMEs(currently we do this by using a thruster which causes the MLP to move slightly). This could be tied to the above item
-GOX Vent Arm venting
-And all the previously mentioned landing items

I think we're pretty much set

Except for the FPS Drain bug, we can have it all in the next release... the FPS drain bug could be fixed until the release, I think I could add an improved redraw scheduler to SSU, to reduce the load on the GPU bus.

I'm not mad at all. I had PM'd you recently, but didn't get a reply, so I attempted the SSME upgrade on my own, I guess we'll have to put it to a vote on which ones to use.

Should be fixed now (I set the thrust of the SSME vent thrusters to 0).
