I don't understand, what do you mean? How to grapple an orbiting module and store it into the cargo bay, isn't it?
Hi Fausto what I mean is reattach the module back in the bay with the waste,and used experiments like said in yor manual,and either dump it so the module burns up in the atmosphere or take it back to earth,and dispose of the waste there.Thanks

There is a long replay in playbacks/Eridanus final pass (KSC) and it shows all reentry procedures!

That is all well and good, but sitting there holding back the joystick to maintain AoA from half an orbit away of the landing site is not the most appealing thought in the world. With Shuttle Fleet and the XR2, I can have autopilots that hold the AoA and I can just worry about the rolls to keep the thing on track. The XR2 can even do the rolls for me.

A 100% manual stick descent from LEO down to the ground is something I want to avoid.

Tried it and failed. The aerodynamics are just so different. Aerobrake can do the AOA holding, but not very good. I'll try to write some LUA script for that...

That would be awesome!



And another impression on the Eridanus, the R13L panel mock up is very nice!

In a previous scenario all station components load and display fine. Also crashes if I approach the rough vicinity of the station, or try to switch to any station vessels.

Using a previous scenario, I spawned an Eridanus and tried to dock it. That didn't crash Orbiter, but the Eridanus is "docked" hundreds of meters away from the target port. The two vessels are connected and orbiter sees them as docked, but the position is completely wrong.

Installed it over an old beta if that means anything.

EDIT:

Nevermind, figured it out. Number 1, I pulled the Eridanus scenario file data from the wrong scenario file. Number 2, I deleted a few docked ships, and forgot to properly reorganize the docking data lines in another vessel.

Still have the screwed up docking location. Seems to work in other scenarios.

After doing a few flights with this, here is my impression.

PROS:
Has a very nice VC
The R13L panel simulation is very nice way to simulate the cargo doors, the solar panels, the KU band antenna.
Nice payload system
RMS arm is very easy to use, very similar to the way you use the RMS on Shuttle Fleet, missing some functions of the Shuttle Fleets ,arm, but still a very nice feature.
The E BSS is very cool feature.
Fun to be able to take the UMMUs and float around the crew cabin, float down the airlock and into the spacehab in the payload bay.
Bay and dock lighting.
Nice STS feel to it for those sill feeling some STS nostalgia
UMMU compatible
Cameras for the OBSS and RMS arms
Re-entry destruction simulated if a bit careless trying to get back to Earth.

CONS
The thing has way too much lift during re-entry, requring the spacecraft to almost always been in a 90degree bank.
No help with re-entry in terms of autopilot and it does not play well with the few MFDs out there that have automatic AoA holding.
No airbrakes or it seems no wheel brakes. thus it is hard to stop the thing on the runway.
Has the same issue as Antares where the buttons in the VC for the MFDs have no labels on them.

Tried it with and without the Velcro stuff, and tried it simply drifting in space. Happens in the ISS scenario included with Orbiter when I spawn one with the editor and command it to dock. Clearly the docking coordinates are ending up way, way off where they should be.

Here's exactly what I did:

-Opened "ISS" scenario in the "Space Stations" folder
-Created Eridanus with the scenario editor
-Switched to Eridanus, opened bay doors, panels, and nose.
-Opened scenario editor, docked Eridanus to port 1 on ISS and moved to ISS' location.

It's attitude is lined up with the port, and Orbiter shows it as docked, but you can see how far off it is. So far, I'm at a loss for anything on my end that's causing it.

As you can see, I'm 80m behind that station, but the MFD shows that I'm 826.6m away... and not lined up at all. I saved and restarted the scenario, and it worked.

Oh, and I think there should be another key command for changing the view to RMS and EBSS. Ctrl+S is used for quicksaves by orbiter, and I use that one very often.

Same, just reloaded the current state and it was docked in the proper location. Weird bug, don't think I've seen that one before. :lol:

Yeah,and CTRL H is to shut the hud on ,or off I use that alot,could you possibly change the docking hatch,open close to something else also please?

Docking problem:

Docking port number 2 is a phantom one we created for UMMU managment.. it must not be used for active docking.. you have to use dock 0 for that.

H key problem: yes, your criticisim is right. We take into account for a future updated version!

Dude there's only one docking port shown in the MFD or the scenario editor, and that's the one we're trying to use. Neither of us is trying to dock with the UMMU phantom port.

I also confirm the Docking port bug. After reloading the 'current state' scenario the port is in the correct location.

Folks, in way of constructive (if misguided and totally flawed :) ) criticism: how do you arrive at the Isp of 342 seconds for Kero+LOX engines? Are you adding fluorine to the mix, by any chance?
