Progress on the 1st stage is going well, rocket is almost done. I redid the engines also and added lots of details to it.

I also started on upgrading the textures of the ICPS and Orion capsule of @francisdrake to match the latest pictures. I hope he's ok with this.
Which got me into a whole other path :D..

I wanted to the Artemis missions to be a little more immersive and playable from the cockpit of Orion, so for some reason I started the daunting project to model the interior of the Orion capsule.

Attach is a zip with the new SM and fairing texture. Make sure to back up. these will over ride existing. You will need the textures/SRB update as the SM uses the same texture

I modified the guidance to this:
Multistage 2015 Automatically Generated Guidance File Vehicle: SLS -10.000 =orbit(30.00,1806,-28.6271778,1.00,80,0.00) -5.000 =engine(0.00,100.00,5.00,0.00,0.00,0.00) 0.000 =engine(100.00,100.00,1.00) 50.000 =engine(100.00,85.00,3.00) 53.000 =engine(85.00,85.00,1) 80.000 =engine(85.00,100.00,3.00) 81 =pitch(57,20,179) 83.000 =engine(100.00,100.00,1.00) 260 =pitch(20,8,50) 310 =pitch(8,7,165)

I did ask @BrianJ his response
"I seem to remember making a guidance file for SLS Artemis launch some time back ( possibly a few years ago) Have a look in any archived old versions you have and see if you can find it. If not I'll see what I can do for the launch guidance. I'll have to go back and recap on the constraints for the lunar DRO for the capsule, too."

Like I have said I am not an orbit guy.

I should be able to move it. Do you have an image of where it should be?

Thanks

This zip has the red nasa worm texture also. New SM and fairings. So it may override existing meshes so back them up.

Hi,
as promised here is a launch ascent guidance file, and the launch scenario that goes with it.
(made for unmodified add-on "Space Launch System for Orbiter2016 0.1.2" .ini )

Launch scenario "Artemis Launch 29 08 2022" is in the "NASA Space Launch System" folder.
Starts at 29 Aug 2022, 12:30 UTC. Liftoff at 12:33 UTC.

I used the JPL Horizons pre-flight data as reference for the guidance.
Targeting 1815 x 36 km orbit, Equatorial Inc. 34.4, LAN 33.75, AgP 36.4

Orbit insertion happens a few km high and a few seconds early, but should get pretty close to nominal.
Best I could do ;-)

PeA raise burn at apogee for PeA 220km

Am looking forward to watching the launch on Monday, hope all goes well (y)

Cheers,
BrianJ

Thanks. A slight change to get the red nasa SRB. you need this for the cfg.

CONFIG_FILE Config\Multistage2015\SLS_BLOCKIACUBETEST8.ini

that cfg and meshes,... are here:

This zip has BrianJ's scenario and guidance. The scenario has been edited to have the red SRB's. Also has the red NASA on the Orion SM and on the bottom on the SM is the esa/red NASA. Note that these will override existing meshes. So back up
Enjoy
