Discussion Space: 1999 updates ?

Should we post the links here for the manual and installation files or post to O-H first?

Can only speak for myself, but if you want people to review it first to find some bugs or problems, post links to the files here.
Then if all is OK upload it to OH.

Uploaded to Orbit Hangar. It should be available in 24 hrs!

Looking foward to ,will the manual give all the details, about all the addons involved?
Thanks guys for all the hard work.

Yes, Ben did a excellent job. It gives key commands, instructions on how to use the different features, and background info on the different Space1999 items.

Now is out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Thanks.

I am working on a UCGO freighter and EagleLAb which both carried cargo.

Working on the silos.

Also a new Main Mission. Like so many TV shows the sets changed

Yes, Main Mission did change a bit during the first season. I'd very much prefer do to the season 2 Command Center ;) It is completely underground and very different in style regrading computer panels.

But in my opinion I'd leave Alpha alone for now and add more spacecraft. Here's a list of possibilities:

I'd LOVE to do VCs for the Ultraprobe for example!

And the mission itself could be interesting to simulate: http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/models/w2multramission.html

Landing and docking on the pads is a bit awkward. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

Will you be able to land other ships at Moonbase Alpha? Such as a Shuttle A?

Well I made the Centuri Station and I think the Ultraprobe. But a VC for it would be great. The reentry glider is built also.

Some other options also might be:
Other things to consider:

The Hawk spacecraft
The Reactor room at MBA (another site to collect nuclear waste for transport)
Nuclear Waste Collection sites on Earth

The Centauri Space Station
Deep Space Probes Nova and Ultra

You should be able to land other vessels if the attachment id is APR.

Landing on the pad, I fall right through, unless I press the right key at the right time. I'm thinking Meshland might be a good idea to have with this add-on?

Check the manual. You have to establish a controlled descent and "Attach" to the pads since they all are elevated except for the waste processor pad and NDA 1:

Approach Procedure to Landing Pad (MBA, A Pad, T Pad)
· From the Eagle’s focus (F3) using Hover engines, establish a stabilized descent (< 1 meter/sec) to the selected landing site using VOR/VTOL MFD and onboard views “V” for guidance, RCS in translation mode, and “L” (Hors Lvl) Autopilot to maintain alignment

· At 60 meter altitude, switch to MBA (A Pad or T Pad) focus, select the
appropriate landing pad. Select the appropriate (Left/Right) docking approach “8”. Return focus to Eagle to maintain a stabilized descent

· At 20 meter callout, switch to MBA (A Pad or T Pad) focus. Follow descent to ≈ 2 meters. Press “K” to attach Eagle to the landing pad

· Return focus to Eagle to shutdown Hover engines and disengage Autopilot

As far as the Command Center. It is possible. The MainMission center is just a mesh separate from the MBA mesh. Because of the limits of Displacement (9 vessels) You would have to share the travel tube with the Main Mission. The MainMission was actually higher up but to walk thru it it was put at ground level.

So you could do it like this:

Yes, that will work! Same travel tube, right?

One thing that might be interesting would be to be able to put an Orbiter MFD into the main viewer and into one of the desks. If the interior meshes were VCs, I know that it would work. It would bring some more life into the base.

But in my opinion, I'd go for an updated Century Spacedock and Ultra mission (http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/models/w2multramission.html) . Although the science is not quite right, it is based on our solar system and there's some space navigation and maneuvers to do.

Maybe but I'm not sure how to add that.
