Thanks. I might try the communication post as a packable cargo so one could place them where they want.

If not issues then I might try adding them to the moonbase. So all pads will be like that. and one cone station on the north side.

Any ideas about the cone station. I think maybe just have the front open to walk around. or the front and one side.?
 
Keep it simple. One exit will do for the cone station in my opinion.
I'd very much like to see a beta version of the complete moonbase and the Eagle (with that nice VC :) ) and see how it all "feels".
 
Ok I will put one exit into the station to the front. Then I will start putting the alphapad onto the base mesh. I will most likely make it like the Marsbase use a beacon where the attachment point is.
 
Ok I have a new base mesh with 5 new pads. Any ideas where the cone station should go?

Maybe by launchpad 4 and 2. They are the furthest cones away. Maybe both of them.
I only have travel stations where the tube goes into the pad through the docking tower and long building. Each pad will have at least 1 car station.

Basically what I did it took the meshs from the base and made them into 1 mesh. I think I got the textures right.

I used UCGO to deploy it. This is only to see the mesh. All textures are there. Might need to adjust material setting.

If the mesh is good then I will start making the module.

On the textures. Not sure which texture is ALPHA.dds. It was part of the earlier MoonBase Alpha's. It is the texture for the Main Mission tower.

One thing that I noticed. On the plan of the base it is reversed of the map on the tube station.

I noticed on the travel car I need to reverse the mesh group by the front door.

I have the pad elevator, docking tubes, docking tube doors all working. I have 2 travel car stations working. It is a matter of getting the movement of the doors down.

Airlocks: I will have the airlocks operate separately than the doors. So if you press Return you can open the doors. I might put in if outer door closed then you can open the inner door.
I may redo the textures and put specific airlock numbers on them. So you can tell where you are.

Any suggestions for marking the pad/hangar so you know where you are?

Orange is the color for Reconnaissance. I may have the conestation in orange with a "A" or "B"


On the airlocks they will be number 1-5 according to the pads the cone station might be west east

I have redone all the travel tube station unit so now they say Travel Unit 1,....

I might redo the airlocks walls.
 
I think that the sign is one of these: http://www.space1999.net/eagle/graphics/miscellaneous.htm (bottom of page).
Again, check the credits for these, just to be safe and avoid future problems.

As for the airlocks and the boarding tube having the same look, yes, the basic sets were all made of the same wall / door panels.

I'll try to resume work on my main mission mesh, so that at least I can send you a WIP version that you can integrate into the base. Perhaps just a corridor, so that you can place it and setup a travet tube destination for it. Then latter on we can replace that mesh with a more complete one :thumbup:
 
I will give credit. On the main mission I think a VC will be best as it is elevated and the ummu will fall thru. But if we want people to see it we could make it inside the mesh and use a texture for the windows.

maybe this for the airlock but you wouldn't be able to read it so I may just leave it out

To walk in the best would be to do a Command Center, as that was underground but for my part I'm satisfied with a Main Mission at surface level with a moon texture on the windows. As you don't have any collision with walls and can't get up the step to actually move close to the windows, it doesn't matter much.

Of course, you can also have a VC in the correct place.

I've added a access corridor and a travel tube door so that you can go in and out.
 
Looking great. What could be done is put the base where it is supposed to go. place a camera where the windows are and then use that screen shot for the windows.

Here are a couple of shots with the new textures on.
