Discussion Space: 1999 updates ?

I just started watching Space : 1999, and enjoyed it :D It's gritty and mysterious unlike modern sci fi. :3

Btw, has anyone done the math to see just how much mass is needed to push the Moon to leave the solar system at such a high speed?

Thanks

Any one having issues with the beta? Any issue with the UMMu Space1999 crew?

I am running out of ideas why we are getting the camera issues.

Notice how arm4 is cut off

I just moved the camera back PGUP. I understand that as you move the camera using PGUP and PGDN you get clipping. That is what is happening on the Ultraprobe also. As you move the Camera in it cuts thru the mesh.

Move Camera closer using PGUP

clipped, although you get to see a neat cut away of the interior

But this is what doesn't make sense. Where is the docking tube 1?

Dock a hawk to it and NOW it appears.

Code:
void LSTATION::SelectCockpitView (int CAM)
{

     switch (CAM) {

      case 0:  //tube1
          SetCameraDefaultDirection (_V(0,0,-1));
          SetCameraOffset (_V(0,65,-100));
		  oapiCameraSetCockpitDir (0,0);
          break;
          case 1:  //tube2
          SetCameraDefaultDirection (_V(-1,0,0));
          SetCameraOffset (_V(-150,65,0));
		  oapiCameraSetCockpitDir (0,0);
          break;
      case 2:  //tube3
          SetCameraDefaultDirection (_V(0,0,1));
          SetCameraOffset (_V(0,65,100));
		  oapiCameraSetCockpitDir (0,0);
          break;
          case 3:  //tube4

          SetCameraDefaultDirection (_V(0,0,-1));
          SetCameraOffset (_V(0,-69,-100));
		  oapiCameraSetCockpitDir (0,0);
          break;
          case 5:  //tube6
          SetCameraDefaultDirection (_V(-1,0,0));
          SetCameraOffset (_V(-130,-69,0));

Good question! Isaac Asimov did some math, saying that any explosion capable of knocking the Moon out of its orbit would actually blow it apart.

I thing I just noticed. The setsize is to be the radius of a sphere around the mesh. If you look at the image from meshwizard the diameter would be 347.42. That is what I have the setsize to. When I think it should be 1/2 of that 173.71.

I'm wondering if the pack has all the major bugs ironed out now...

Still waiting for Tuesday...

So where do we go or are we finished?

Suggestions have been:

Add the 2nd season Command Center
http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/cguide/umcommand.html
Add a nuclear generator room
http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/cguide/umnga3.html
Make the Swift. This vessel the interior doesn't match the exterior
http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/models/w2mswift.html
Make the SuperSwift. It has a pod/pilot ship. The problem is the pod/pilot ship is to big for the SuperSwift
http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/models/w2msuper.html
Make the falcon Shuttle. Not really sure what it looks like. waiting on blueprint. Thoughts are it might be the UFO lunar shuttle.

Voyager One

Moar buildings! :lol:

Seriously, I love having a bunch of buildings I can pack into UCGO crates and setup bases around the solar system with.

Thanks. Both the Command Center and Nuclear Generating Room would be inside the MoonBase. So you would need a way to enter the area. you can use the displacement booth as they only allow 9 area. The transport would work though.

Do the Swift, Voyage One, and the Super-Swift! The 2nd season Command Center would also be great.

Making the vessels is not the issue as much as making the interior fit. The Swift cockpit doesn't match the exterior.

The Super-Swift has a pilot Ship aka Pod that is supposed to fit thru the top. But the body is too big.

I have thought about the Voyage One.

Another vessel never seen but referenced is the Falcon Shuttle. It looks like a cross between an Eagle and 2001 Moonbus.

According to the timeline this was replaced by the Eagle. So it may scraped.

The planets and sounds are fine but the older Moonbase add-ons may overwrite our version so back up your current installation.

Here is what is in the works.

NGA3: it will be a separate vessel so if you want you can place it where ever. But it will be placed in the scenario it will be placed where it was. You can see the base thru windows.

I will need to add a mesh to the base to reflect the windows

Swift:
Here are the issues. MAybe someone can suggest fixes,...
swiftplan.jpg

On this plan they place the main cockpit in the main section. Then the front pod is an escape pod.

Here is the problem. No windows. So you would be flying blind. If someone wanted to build a VC where the MFD fit in the monitors that would be great.
