Hi, you can call me Spud, Spuddy, whatever you want, as long as it is vaguely similar to my name. I've been messing around with Orbiter for about a week (And am hooked), and I've been lurking the forums for about 2 days of that.

So far, I know about/how to:
Get Delta Glider and Shuttle-A into LEO
Basic orbital mechanics (Apoapsis, Periapsis, the nodes, that's about it.)
How to leave Earth's orbit/enter another body's (furthest I've done is Venus.)
Land in a 3-km radius of Brighton (at 137 km/s vspd )
The Probe
How to fly into the sun

I know absolutely NOTHING about calculating orbital physics, delta V, radians. In short, the mathy stuff. I am willing to learn though.

I'll probably spend most of my time on the tutorial pages at first. In the meantime though, I need to get some sleep!

:welcome: to the forums! You went to Venus? I still have problems with that, and I've been playing for quite a while... Congrats!

Welcome to the OF Spudman! and congrats, you've achieved in one week what took me months!:tiphat:

:welcome: to the Orbiter Forum. I haven't even made it to Venus yet. Congrats on the achievements.

:welcome:

So the last thing to achieve is a successful docking to the ISS (or MIR) and then you know everything. Everything else is just an improvement of your base knowledge... more or less ;)

What? You mean I'm actually doing good? Not to be cocky, but once I figured out the Transfer MFD it was easy getting there. Of course, I bet it would be harder doing it from Earth's SOI. I broke into a solar orbit before doing the transfer. Oh, and thanks for the nasa link!

WOW I just installed the 3 XR's and compared to Ye Olde DG-IV, they're friggin' amazing! [/enthusiasm]

And they are almost impossible to get to another plant with. Either I run out of gas halfway through setting up the intercept, or I run out of LOX on the way. Right now trying to make an XR5 with 8 SRB's stuck to it get there in time.

You can adjust the fuel and LOX amounts in the .cfg files if you need to.
