Hello !

Sorry for my bad english !
My orbiter crash to desktop when i use the brightness button on any MFD in virtual cockpit of Shuttle Fleet 4.8

Can someone help me ? :)

Thanks

My first idea is to try to re-install it. If this fails, try a different version to install. This may or may not fix the issue, however it is a start to see if the issue lies within the code or installment of it or not.

Fresh install of Orbiter 2010 + Shuttle Fleet... same problem ! :(

EDIT: Same problem with new install and no addon ! :(

MFD's ok in the VC except brightness button
But, if D3D9 client is not activated everythings works fine !

You must not activate D3D9Client within "orbiter.exe" !
Use it only when you open "orbiter_ng.exe".

i already use orbiter_ng.exe !
everything works fine if i click the brightness button with orbiter.exe (without D3D9 client)
Orbiter crash when i click the same button with orbiter_ng.exe (with D3D9 client)

What is the brightness button? can you take a pic and point out what it is you are referring to? I am not familiar with what you speak.

The brightness button is the right cylindrical button on the right side of each MDU (Multifuctional Display Unit) on the FWD panels. The left cylindrical button is the ON/OFF switch for the MDU.

I can recreate the CTD in the default Atlantis, so this is not Shuttle Fleet specific CTD. It is in fact a D3D9Client specific bug. There's no CTD in the standard built-in DX7 render engine (orbiter.exe).

Thank you anyway for your help. It only remains for me to play without D3D9 or not to touch this button :)

Meh, I would just say dont touch that button. I have flown Shuttle Fleet many times since it was made to be D3D9 compatible and never had I needed to touch that button. Heck, like I said, I didnt even know it existed. I just assumed that switch on the MDUs were not simulated. The on/off switch works just fine, as I use it often.
