This Orbiter 2006 plugin brings back the direct MFD selection method via simulating the old shortcuts behaviour.
The concept behind the plugin uses Windows hooks to monitor keystrokes in the render window and interprets them according to a configuration file.
Limitations:
CTDs with rapid change between certain modes (VTOL, Dock, Alignment and Surface)
This version adds automatic activation key detection for addon MFD modes as well as logging functions together with a log file viewer dialog. Source code included!
