Hi everyone,

I was wondering - is it possible to see satellites pass overhead from the ground in Orbiter 2010, as it is possible to see the ISS from the ground in the right conditions in real life?

Thanks.

It was possible in 2006. You can use ground camera and track target but you won't see anything, not even a bright point of light as the ISS is too small so I tend to use Telescope MFD and zoom in a little.

Of course, if you have something big in orbit then it's easily visible from the ground.

If you set high enough size by SetSize OAPI function and visibility limit by SetVisibilityLimit function, you can see the satellite, but for existing add-ons the set size is usually so small, that you won't see those satellites from the ground.

But generally it's possible.

For [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3399"]Ananke Tether-Sling v0.2[/ame] I used SetVisibilityLimit and the beacon lights falloff parameter so that the tether was visible from the ground. It was highly unrealistic but there was something awesome about seeing such a large structure spinning across the sky:
