The most realistic space fighter from a TV show.
Needs some tweaking (i'm about camera position), but excellent anyway :thumbup:.

Use
Code:
CAMERA=(0,[B]1.65[/B],0)
instead of
Code:
CAMERA=(0,[B]30[/B],0)

Still playing with other parameters, but it will be a custom setup for my specific purposes, so it doesn't matter.

Looks very nice, but why use .rar for the package? Everyone running Orbiter can open .zip without any additional software, but .rar requires me to go download/install something else just to open it...

Don't you have already 7zip installed for unpacking AMSO? :lol:

Not on this computer, since I don't use Orbiter much here. This is the first time I've run into a .rar I've wanted to open on this machine, but needing to go download and install something else just to open it makes it not worth it :(

There is also a portable version of 7Zip around in that case... :lol:

That makes me sad.

Which show is it from, anyway?

"Babylon 5" - And yes, it is the most realistic one. Aside of an insane power density, that could be at least justified, it is really realistic.

Adding both Starfury and Thunderbolt to Orbiter as DLL is not that hard since you just need 16 thrusters in a cube configuration, without any messing with orbiters physics - Orbiter is perfect for this.

I'm just sad because I haven't seen a Spiral on TV. :lol:

That's a very good point. Sorry. I use Rar so frequently, I thought nothing of it. If I can, when I've got five minutes, I'll update the file as a ZIP instead of Rar.

Looks good. 16 of these will look real nice in the fighter bay of the Cortez. Deserves a dll though, for UMMU and UCGO capability...

In the works already. I just need to look at a few details - eg it would be nicer we could use attachments instead of docking ports, so the fighters could be launched at a higher speed.

I'm ok with that. I just went with docking ports because I've messed with them before. Haven't looked at attachment points much but should be easy enough to convert. Before next beta release of the Cortez I'll convert the docks in the lower fighter hangar to attachment points and go from there.

One problem would be doing crew transfer since Ummu does not natively support attachments. But I think this can be fixed by doing the transfer with a custom interface.

If needed I can wrap you such stuff into classes, like having a standard Hangar catapult object to work with. could also add code for supporting missiles there.

You also need the spacecraft3 config file in the config\spacecraft folder, which should have been included with the spacecraft3 install.

You then have a damaged spacecraft3 installation. Your orbiter.log doesn't lie, it can't find the spacecraft class, starting at the spacecraft3.cfg file.
