Courtesy Clerks.. That is what this underpaid employee is called (I will agree with that tho I get min wage and tips... Not the best) for future reference.

Tho I hope if you shop here you wont get annoyed :p I do try my best.

Ok, I'll try to remember this doublespeak.

(I promise not to instinctively punch you, if you try to touch my caffeine dose or the latest "Strategie & Technik" issue, but it will be hard)

I personally am within 5 miles of a number of grocery chains. Yet many customers that come into my store tell me (Hopefully not annoyed :p ) That they have come from Texas to do the shopping because the insane grocery prices in their small town. The situation just snowballs with high gas prices.

Reminds me of the famous TV "documentary" of a German family trying to shop cheap in Poland, burning literally gallons of fuel for this, and eventually buying a pretty over-prized toaster at home because the cheaper Polish ones had been too expensive for them.

If the gas prices would rise, they would be more forced to take the gas costs into the equation when they go shopping. After all, if you pay $40 for gasoline for doing a $150 weekend shopping for a larger family, you might really prefer going shorter distances to something that maybe costs $20 more, but is then only $20 in gasoline away.

(Just as own example: I travel 20 km to a butcher further away, compared to the closest one that is just 8 km away or a supermarket that is only 2 km away, because the prices and quality are both much better there, means about 5€ more on the bill because of the fuel costs, but the same meat then costs already $20 less while being of better quality)

Please make it clear for me: do you guys undertake your shopping trips on your days off? How much of your private time you don't hesitate to waste on shopping?

I think it's ideally to have a family member who'd do only housekeeping to do that.

of course - at least the biggest part of it. It is possible to get some small stuff already shopped when returning from work, but it is easier to buy the large quantities on the weekend.

During the weekdays, I hate spending more than one hour for it, on the weekend, it can be between 1 and 3 hours without disturbing much, but sometimes, you need up to 6 hours until all needed is done (which then also includes shopping DIY stores for gardening or coal in the time)

I think it's ideally to have a family member who'd do only housekeeping to do that.

Maybe a good for all those who don't need to do it, but I personally think, if all family members are part of the weekend preparations, you are quicker into the weekend together, and also such stuff like shopping is done much faster, if all know what their task there is. Driving around is just one small part of it, storing it all again at home the other. and knowing what you need to shop is the biggest part of it. The less you need to do emergency shopping because something is missing, the less stress you have with it.

I'd rather keep my parts away from the poor fellow, but thanks for the interesting perspective anyway, must admit the pm needs that PR Viagra pill badly, even NATO bashing has not helped keep the rating steady.

You can always make him go the path of the Governator and perform in high budget Russian Action Movies. I'd suggest the title "быть живучим".

Russia halts gasoline export
English.news.cn 2011-04-28 16:55:47

MOSCOW, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia would stop export of gasoline starting from May 1 to stabilize situation of domestic fuel market, Deputy Energy Minister Sergei Kudryashov announced on Thursday.

According to the minister, the Energy Ministry agreed with major Russian oil companies that export of gasoline would be completely stopped and all sales would be directed to the domestic market.

"We realized our (gasoline) stocks have been insufficient," Kudryashov told the ministry's meeting.

He stressed that another wave of petrol shortage could hit in September because oil refineries will be stopped for planned repair works.

A gasoline shortage has started this week in Russia's Altai republic and spread to 20 other Russian regions, including the country's two hubs of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Tuesday ordered to investigate the cause of fuel shortage after Federal Anti-trust Service (FAS)'s previous remarks saying the reason behind the current crisis could be a price fixing cartel agreement among Russian major oil companies.

According to local reports, prices for the most in-demand type gasoline has grown by 18.8 percent in April.

Since the start of this year, Russia has exported about 1 million tons of gasoline, while in 2010 the export amounted to 3 million tons, the reports said.

Gasoline prices could rise 5%-7% - Lukoil chief

ASTRAKHAN. April 27 (Interfax) - The price of gasoline in Russia could rise from 5% to 7%, since prices do not reflect costs incurred by Lukoil (RTS: LKOH), the company's President Vagit Alekperov said during a Russia Today television interview.

"We believe that the price might rise but not by much, 5%-7%, which could be a restrained, of course, the government lifts the excise tariff that was enacted since the first of January," he said.

Alekperov said that the increase in fuel price have been driven by the parallel between the sharp increase in prices for crude oil and the "growing excise burden per liter of gasoline, which reaches consumers." "We have several restraining factors today. We are in dialog with the government [on various issues], including compensation measures. One of the measures would be a decrease in excise taxes, which were introduced on the first of January. This wouldn't have allowed the possibility of an increase," he added.

"Today's price on the Russian market doesn't reflect the costs carried by companies: on production of gasoline, diesel fuel and supplying it to the consumer. All tariffs of natural monopoly are now indexed. Therefore, we believe that the price could go up, but not significantly," Alekperov said.

"Of course, we understand that society has the right to demand a fair price from us. But the issue is where the price is fair. Today our fuel is sold at 30%-40% less than in our neighbors, even in Belarus and Ukraine. I am not even commenting on the Baltic region," he said.

Of course, Vagit knows which price is fair, and if he says it could rise, it will. Or he wouldn't be what he is. His diamonds are too small, I guess.
