I know that different nations have different days for honouring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice ... or may be about to.
It does not matter the country, whether volunteer or conscript, victor or vanquished, friend or foe. All deserve that two minutes.
Many songs of remembrance have a distinctly antiwar theme. Many have been penned by soldiers as only soldiers truly understand war (if not the reasons for it), and many soldiers, while willing to stand to for those of us who don't, can't or did our turn, truly wish for a cease to war if only to mourn the waste of lives and friends.
So, if you have a particular song of remembrance ... care to share it?
