hi all,
I was reading the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmospheric_entry"]atmospheric reentry[/ame] wiki page about blunt shaped reentry profiles for reentry vehicles and I was wondering if the XR series or any other ships take the effects of blunt vs sharp reentry shapes into account when for example reentering at an AoA of 0° vs 80°. Do they? Do the XR ships heat up from friction, radiation and conduction all at the same time when applicable?
As a side question are the atmospheres of the planetary bodies realistic in terms of aerodynamics, pressure, temperature and density by altitude (below the altitudes at which solar flares regularly blow away the upper atmosphere)?
