qz.com : Boasting about how many hours you work is a sign of failure

I hate the notion of hard work as a positive value. I think it's against rational thinking and reasoning.

I fully understand it. I see any hour beyond my regular 40 hours per week as failure. Its a sign of bad planning. If I could afford it, I would even work less than 40. again, another subtle sign of failure.

Would I be really good in my work AND in my negotiation skills, I should earn enough for my 4 person family in 20 hours per week...

And maybe work 4 hours more per week for my first dinghy.

Sometimes I wish I could support that value to have an excuse to work more... My work is less exhausting than the kids!

Completely opposite here... while the kids are pretty wild, I feel much better after spending time with them. Its a more positive type of stress.

I really wish I could feel the same way... Every weekend seems like a battle lately.

Well, here it is some sort of special hell.

Daughter during the week: 7:00 - oh no, I don't want to get up and go to school, I am tired.
Daughter during weekend: 5:30 - Wake up! Its weekend!

I really hate making my own meshes.... It takes hours to create something simple.

Yeah, we at least managed to convince them to play by themselves for a while, so usually we can sleep until 9 or so. Which is very necessary, because my wife has some kind of ancient curse that temporarily turns her into a Harpy if she is woken too early.

Doesn't work here. We only have the choice which parent should listen to the daughter talking a mile a minute.

Yes, they have infiltrated Huawei(that's why they are in so much trouble) and made 5G bovine friendly. Those aren't horns, they are di-poles!

Exactly!
Those movements in the herd aren't random, they are solving differential equations on the hoof. Better than any supercomputer.
We mustn't let them form a Super-Herd, or we are all doomed.

Soooo... maybe both BSE and vCJD were actually caused by including human brains in the Cow Computing Cloud?

It would also explain the Cult of the Dead Cow....

Nah, those were just divisions by 0...

Well, suppose should mention this:

Had a nice 4.4 mag earthquake at work last night. With a 3.3 aftershock that nobody seemed to notice (but our equipment picked it up).

Both units operated normally as if nothing happened.

There's so much seismic bracing around this place I either trip of bang my hardhat against something on a daily basis.
