Should I watch comic book superhero movies even though I never read (or ever cared about) the comic books?

I have never read nor cared for Marvel comics and I think the current crop of Marvel movies are pretty good. It's all about the Joss Whedonisms, as any Firefly fan can tell you.

Hahahaha! My kiddo's high school band played "The Game", it was sometimes annoying, and sometimes a riot. During competition, as the band takes the field many venues will have "shoutouts" to the kids (from parents, each other, etc). Well, the 'Cruiser had one for the color guard "To the Mustang Band Color Guard, you just lost The Game!"

I could hear the groan from across the field, the tuba section cracked up (but then-it's a tuba thing; they're pretty strange to begin with).

Two girls in the percussion pit, looked over at me and gave me the knowing look (I tried to play innocent, no luck).

This one time, when I was at band camp...

I haven't ever read a single marvel comic except for one issue of spider-man (and he isn't in the movies yet), and it really isn't neccessary for the movies. Marvel has just managed to put out genuinely good action movies so far. The worse ones are still well above average, and the good ones are a delight. If you want to start, I'd recommend the first avengers movie as a point of entry.

I liked DareDevil and Batman (heh Marvel vs DC), but I really wasn't all that much into comic books. I was more of a Ray Bradbury, Ted Sturgeon and Harlan Ellison kind of reader.

Incognito mode, buddy. Take no risks. ;)

I thought more like cp which I'm quite sure can still be tracked to you with incognito mode, the only difference that does is just not saving the history at *your* place but I don't know if that'd work with donotlink.

You just lost The Game!

Thought it would be this, am disappointed:

It's almost like the replicants in Blade Runner: leave them on for too long and they shut down automatically.

This AD was prompted by the determination that a Model 787 airplane that has been powered continuously for 248 days can lose all alternating current (AC) electrical power due to the generator control units (GCUs) simultaneously going into failsafe mode. This condition is caused by a software counter internal to the GCUs that will overflow after 248 days of continuous power.
What the heck?
Why would anyone need such a counter in a generator control unit?

It's almost like the anecdote about people thinking the cars would shut down on Y2K problem, cause injectors deal with "timing".
Only sad and for real.

Possibly for health management, like logging errors. But the error handling is really bad.

I would have expected something along the lines of "please reboot the board computer for maintenance" to be mentioned somewhere in the manual... :shifty:

I would have expected it to go "Boeing Update, do you want to restart now?" mid-flight.

"No, No, NO! Schedule for later!"

Hmm so my I got my computer running for the first time in several days... Decided to delete a whole bunch of crap and defrag my hard drive. 12 hours later, I wiggled my mouse, the CPU usage shot up then the fan turned on, then it died in the middle of the defrag process. Pretty much any activity causes the cpu to overload and crash.

Except you were in a full screen app for the last fifteen minutes and didn't notice the restart later window pop up :P

So it happens there's a second UK royal baby now ... okay. I didn't even know she was pregnant ...

And I don't care, but shhhhh ...

I can't really see how people care about that stuff... The birth of the new child is just as newsworthy as the erotic affairs of the Essex county comptroller.
