Uhm, no. "hristos" is the greek translation of "Messiah", lit. "the annointed one". The name "christians" actually comes from the latinised form "cristjani", which was used by the romans to describe "messianic Jews" even before Jesus came around. Messianic Jews in the meaning of "Jews awaiting any day now for the messiah to come around and kick the Romean's but", and they were often prone to engage in some but-kicking themselves (or, more usually, knife stabbing and/or rioting) to hasten the day. In other words, the term was used rather equivalently to "islamists" nowadays.
Once Jesus came and went, the Romeans had a hard time of telling the new sect appart from cristjani in the old sense, since they all kept on talking about the Messiah constantly. It seems that sometimes even the Jews and the new church had trouble keeping the two appart.

Interestingly enough every time I took a plane trip I took another one in the next month.
