Typical european spiders won't bite you - especially that black ones wandering in bathrooms

No, but they web their nets in your CPU cooler over night and grow to hand-size.

The only thing worth taking a picture of on my first flight was the G1000 system in front of me...

This is what my country's main fighter jet looks like:

F-15H Eagle

A fictional variant of the F-15D? Nice choice.

So, I decided to buy the first X-COM, because it had been recommended several times, and I must say, it is one the best TBT games I've ever seen. Fully destructable environments, random missions and encounters, random squads with some RPG elements, etc. I can't believe I never tried it earlier.

I also just heard that Firaxis is developing a faithful remake of the first game. Sounds interesting...

I still have Dos version bought around 1995. It's incredible game and in the past it was really scary while playing late at night (realtime) a terror mission (night in game time). Especially with aliens with psychic powers.

Yes, and I also read about a smaller company making a remake called "Xenonauts". It looks like an updated, improved version of the original.

Oh, and it's also set during the Cold War in 1979.

"oh crap, it's a cryssalid! everybody, OPEN FIRE!! -30 seconds later, in desperate voice of US president from Independance Day - "Doesn't anybody have any time units left???" -after some checking it turns out someone has time units for a snap shot with a pistol. You know it won't kill the blasted thing, but... "SHOOT OUR GUY STANDING NEXT TO IT!!!"

Ahhhh, good times. One of the best games ever.

Still. Love. That. Game. I carry it around with DOSBox on a flash drive

It's like the F-15J in Japan's "Air Self-Defense Force"

Hatsunia is based off Japan (but never Imperial Japan), but with a Poland-sized population in a UK-sized area.

That really limits the available years of Japanese history. Warring States period?

It's based on the Japan after WWII. No expansionism/imperialism to be found here.

(but my country is a federal republic instead of a constitutional monarchy)

You mean the F-15DJ? The Japanese version of the F-15D. You can tell its a DJ by the two seat configuration. The J only has one seat, as it's a variant of the F-15C.

Then it's the F-15DH.

Another random fact about my country: our top-level domain is .hts
