...Working on a new project...

...it's called: CADIS

The first person who can guess what it stands for wins one million space dollars.

Chinese, Armenian, Djiboutian International Shuttle?

fun fact: 90% of the Americans can't point Djibouti on a map, but if they discover oil...:uhh:

Europe would try to get the oil but would immediately come to a beaurocratic standstill.

My grandfather (the one related to the Nazi) was a Naval Aviator. He would have taken part in an invasion of Japan had the bomb not been dropped. My other grandfather helped liberate the Woebellin concentration camp.

The grandfather from my mothers half of the family fought as tank driver in France and was the only one to get out alive of his burning tank. His wife and my grandmother had been AAA helper and nurse during the war, while traveling from here down south to Austria as the war went lost. The second grandfather was fugitive from Eastern Prussia, like my grandmother.

None of them can be considered Nazis (No party members), though my grandmother had been pretty open about the charisma of Hitler, when she saw him live, when he laid the foundation stone of the Volkswagen factory here. The worst you can say about her, is that she is as xenophobic as the average person. She felt uneasy in the presence of Africans, when she went shopping with me, but never hated them or saw them as minor. She simply felt unsure about the situation.

My grandparents can be sure accused of doing nothing against the Nazis or even supporting them. But contrary to all modern German heroes who fought against the Nazis, they had been still alive after the war and had been able to tell their own story. And there are always two sides of a story in a war.

Von Braun was member of the Nazi party just like Oskar Schindler. One thrived on launching rockets and leaving it to another department where they come down, the other went bankrupt trying to save a few hundred Jewish souls.

(The good thing about Random Comments - in a few hours, nobody will even notice this post, it is gone with the thread)

Interesting bit of personal history Urwumpe. None of my relatives that I know of served in the military during World War II, but I do have two grandfathers who served in the Korean War. I believe one was a medic.

Grandfather on my Mother's side worked in the Dept. Of the Navy, and my Grandfather on my Dad's side was on Omaha Beach, then ended up somewhere is Western Germany, then was sent home when a jeep ran him over (Fun fact: in hospital is where he met my Grandmother)

I'm assuming a friendly jeep? If so, how the heck did that happen?

The jeep ran him over...i'm gonna take a wild guess that the jeep wasn't very friendly :P
The story, as I was told, was he stepped out of doorway, and proceeded to cross the street, when a jeep rounded the corner and hit him

Well, I had assumed it was accidental =p Interesting nonetheless!

Strong American ally, and one of the few conservative (maybe the only conservative?) countries left on Earth;). Besides, I'd love to see the place:)

Ireland might work as well:)

Oh yeah, Israel would be totally safe...

No, not safe, but at least it would not be under Obama.

At least we haven't pissed off everyone in a 1,000 mile region. That's all I'm going to say on the matter, we're venturing into basement territory.

(though, Canada isn't really a threat...)

I recommend you North Korea. Very conservative government, high political stability, temperate climate. And Obama has nothing to say there.

In terms of randomness, I calculate that we shall reach 7,000 at around midnight 7th/8th May 2012.

Around Christmas 2012, we shall have reached 70,000 posts.

We'll have 700,000 posts in about August 2019.

More posts than population of Planet Earth will exist on this thread in around 2120, if we're still here by then.

Extrapolation is a tool of the Dark side, young padawan, you must resist it's lures.
