Imagine that there is a big pool of burning gasoline that shouldn't be burning, and a cistern of liquid nitrogen nearby.
Would you use the latter to extinguish the former, and what would it look like?

For the past month or so it has been legal in Maine for women to be topless. (Though breast-feeding in public can constitute a misdemeanor... Laws are so ridiculous.)

Anyway, I forgot that there was going to be a big "topless parade" in the downtown area today. I was walking home from work and noticed that traffic was backed up and the streets were crowded with cheering onlookers. Suddenly realizing what was going on, I managed to take a back road and avoid the mayhem.

Awkward.

The first time I landed the UCGO Arrow on the moon I did it manually, from the supplied in-orbit scenario, not knowing that there was an autopilot to do so (and on an IBM T42 laptop no less). I brought her down for an almost perfect landing at Brighton Beach. Going back later and using the autopilot, I find I did my deorbit burn at almost exactly the same time & for almost the same duration as the autopilot. I really enjoyed landing it manually. I have to admit though, it was cool to watch it done automatically from the camera located on the tower at Brighton.

We already have a user called "face". I don't think that's an appropriate username.

In a secret location, at a ThreadJackers Anonymous meeting...

Hi, my name is n122vu, and my last thread jack was less than 24 hours ago. *group* - "Hi n122vu."

I don't know why I even thought about jacking that thread. I knew I shouldn't have jacked it, but I just couldn't help myself. It's like the thread was just sitting there, saying "C'mon. You know you want to..."

Hmm - my second hard disk just dissapeared in winXP. Need to investigate this - all of my work is there along with orbiter folder.

-------edit-------

IDE cable is quite loose - some duc-tape and now it's working :D

One word: Backup. :) Otherwise your data is on borrowed time -- it's not a question of if a hard drive will fail, it is when.

Well the mediums of back up are subject to the same rule so theoretically everything is on borrowed time.

I do backups every week or every major project is done so HDD failure wouldn't be so costly for me - only time consuming and it would cause a little delay in my work. :D
