I know that I should not hate... but I really hate some selected preprocessor software (which name I won't state here). It is terribly slow. I could be at home now. But instead, I wait for a damn slow software to finish the test run, so this weeks tasks can finish with further testing my own software... I HATE IT! This software is all that is between me and my weekend!

Ok, not so random comment...

My VGA cable is very close to death. I already bought one VGA cable,
but didn't see that it was a low quality one until I saw the ghosting on my screen, so I returned it today.

My laptop also has a HDMI port, the screen also has a DVI port, and I have a spare DVI cable.
Would it be a good idea to just buy a HDMI to DVI adapter?

That would certainly be cheaper than a new VGA cable, and (well, I don't really care about that) it would be digital.

Have you seent he video of the Swedish reporter who was attacked by a turkey? If not, it's [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eZwm6tsiT4]here.[/ame]
Anyways, as a former chicken owner (my sister's 2nd grade science project, for the record), I can attest to the ferocity of ground birds when they get their hackles up. LITERALLY. If I ever went out into the backyard barefoot, the chicken was on me in an instant. She then proceeded to attack my feet with every buit of energy she had, and she did NOT let up! I can sympathize with that reporter: Birds hurt.

My brother in law's kid learned the hard way one does not make fun of, and antagonize, a rooster. He wasn't hurt, but the rooster did scare the bejeezus out of him.

Well, this chicken would bite, scratch, claw, and otherwise draw blood. Sadly, she died in my arms at 11 years of age last summer. ANCIENT by chicken standards, BTW.

I had to wiki this.
Chickens may live for five to ten years, depending on the breed.[12] The world's oldest chicken, a hen, died of heart failure at the age of 16 according to the Guinness Book of World Records.[13]
Ancient is no exaggeration!

I'm still looking at my ~15 year old cats all the time wondering how long they'll keep acting young!

A paradox:
If you put a circuit together, power it up, and everything works, then you'd spend the next half an hour measuring and probing, looking for some problem.

If, however, on the first power up it does nothing, and you spend the next minute finding and attaching some loose wire which makes it work correctly, then you just assume it's good and go do something else immediately.

So, it looks like someone (according to the IP from Poland...) hacked my e-mail profile and sent hundreds of spam messages to other addresses that wanted them to visit adult websites. (Still not sure how they did it, excessive virus search is running!)

Makes me wondering if there are people out there earning their money with hacking e-mail accounts and advertising adult sites. If yes that sounds like a quite cool job...

So, with how we have Godwin's law in reference to the Third Reich, I think we need a law in reference to 1984. Seeing that quite a bit lately.

Sitting at home infront of your PC, writing and using coded programs/bots that do the work for you.
Sounds better than 99% of everything I've ever worked...

This only works if you are Lisbeth Salander.

Yes it is pretty popular. Not people do that, but bots. Never use a password, that can be guessed by a dictionary attack. That means: Never do SimpleWord99 as password Scheme. computer can guess that one fast. One successful attempt in 10000 tries is not bad, if your bot net has 50000 zombies and no hurry.

On another note: My computer now failed completely about 10 days before delivery of the successor. I hope I can rescue some data from it, the system HDD failed after a masive GPU heat stroke.

And I always considered two letters followed by 8 numbers (random ones, not connected to me) is quite safe since there are over 67 million possibilities:dry:

Yeah, I've always wanted to be a mailclient-to-mailclient porn salesman.

"So, you want to work for us? There's a part in your CV where it looks like you didn't work for three years!" - "Oh yeah, I was a mailclient-to-mailclient porn salesman."
I would like to see a real reaction of someone to that:hmm:

Car Stereos

I've been considering Dual's XDMA6630 car stereo to replace my broken Clarion OEM. Anyone here with experience with car stereos like to give some advice?

I don't really turn my volume up, I care more about the quality of sound.
