I've had two guitars that made strings fail on a regular basis. One broke the high-E at the nut, and the other one the A string at the bridge. In both cases the solution was to "soften" the offending string support very carefully with a small metal file.

Not when strumming the string means whacking said string with a thick pick, full force, from a radius of at least .75 meters.

That kind of technique also means your fingers will be cut into fine slices if you lose the pick along the way.

For last week I've been practicing fast "gallop" riffs. Probably that's the cause.

Not when strumming the string means whacking said string with a thick pick, full force, from a radius of at least .75 meters.

That kind of technique also means your fingers will be cut into fine slices if you lose the pick along the way.

Yeah, when you said fast galloping metal riff, that "The Dark Saga" Album came into my mind. :lol: In my case, it was "The Hunter", that caused eternal pain.

If you are lucky, and I am very unlucky, you can have my spare sets... discovered an exostosis on my left wrist today, not sure yet what to think of it. Can be just caused by poor ergonomics, or something worse. at least it makes my left hand slow and less dexterous. :beathead:
