On August 5, they will disarm a major WW2 bomb at the Volkswagen factory here. it is not known yet, what kind of bomb it is, but they plan with an evacuation radius of 1200 meters. The bomb itself was already discovered in May during probing, in 4 meters depth.
Did they built a factory on top of it, or was it aimed at the factory to begin with?
Strange to hear it was down there the whole time in such an active area.

The factory was targeted in WW2, it was constructed in 1938. Many bombs have only been found lately because of new computer software permitting analyzing old photographs for the tiny tiny holes left by duds. In some older parts of the factory, you can in fact still see bomb damage from WW2

Kind of reminds me of when I went to Italy. One of the roads we were going to take got shut down because they found an old WW2 land mine under the road.:uhh:

Now would not be the time to make a 'Pop goes the Weasel' analogy...would it?

Just watched a spider chew up a fly.
Amazing, actually.
A tiny bead with legs thinner than hairs running on a net of even thinner wires it constructed, wraps it up, tugs, restrains, all with moves that look anything but simple.
The man might be able to cross the interplanetary void, but he can't make even as simple a machine as that tiny spider is, and yet have the audacity to stick the word "intelligent" to every user-nagging piece of software there is.

I'm going try learning calculus for the rest of the summer. Wish me luck.
Calculus is easy.
Just make sure your soul is in it, not just your memory.
Otherwise, good luck.

Exactly... you have to get a feeling for the process of solving problems, not learn every solution for every problem that your exam might throw at you.

There are a few problems which require you to use the official solution, the trick is only to turn every problem into something that the official solution can solve.

if you have no feeling for mathematics, it is just numbers for you. which is not good since even the numbers are just symbols.

Furthermore, it is a well-known fact that alcohol and calculus don't mix very well.

One should never drink and derive.

Check out Khan Academy on YouTube. I was able to figure out the easy way to derive functions pretty quickly.

+1 there. I'm re-taking College Algebra this time around, and the class content for this class has extensive coverage of their videos. The guy narrating the videos seems very adept at explaining everything clearly.

So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all.
Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean.
A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that.
So no more runnin'.

I aim to misbehave.

:oh:

RC had this as an easter egg in the config file for MAL:

Code:
; === Docking ports ===
BEGIN_DOCKLIST
0.00 0.00 -2.72 0 0 -1 0 1 0 ;aim to misbehave
END_DOCKLIST

Shiny.

Posting here, I'm afraid to do a necropost on the Demotivator thread:

It is okay to necropost, as long as the post is relevant.

But since you already posted this here, please don't post that in the Demotivator thread or you might get a warning from the mods for cross-posting.

Why re-post it elsewhere? You can always report your post or contact the staff who can move the post where it should be.

As you can see the post is now in Orbiter demotivators thread without re-posting. ;)

Well, if post is relevant it isn't called necropost. :P

I guess the disappearing posts only add to the randomness of an otherwise already random thread.

To randomness! May it consume the universe...one reaction at a time.
