What I never fully understood was how they compute the timing of ignition for raising the apoapsis of the GTO in such a manner that the ApA crosses longitude at the desired point.

Then I realized maybe it has something to do with the 180 degree rule, as with dropping your perigee during your re-entry burn.

This is what happens when I give myself time to think.

That's the orbit where the satellite is always above the same part of land, correct? How do you do that exactly? I've always wanted to try that actually.

It's a circular orbit at an altitude of 35.79Mm. I use Kulch's Energia, Space Tugs, and his SkyLinkSat, as that is the designed mission. make sure that you deorbit the Smerch tug when you're done. Say NO to space trash!

Funny, but after reading about Adobe firing a few hundred employees, many people noticed that Adobe uses a similar logo as the German Agency For Employment (Responsible for unemployment welfare and finding new employments for unemployed).

You have to take into account the rotation of the earth. I can't recall the period of GTO, but your would burn [math]180+\frac{360*GTO_p}{86,400}[/math] degrees before your desired final longitude.

PS: Anyone know how to make fractions in [math] tags?

EDIT: simplifies to [math]180+\frac{GTO_p}{240}[/math] degrees.

This should be in the tutorials forum. Off Topic in the Off Topic thread !

Sorry, couldn't help to do that one.

Other than that, Aldrin really rocks, I mean repairing a "major problem with batteries", and doing it so well it has no influence on the mission, that's pretty awesome !

Notice the infamous 91/90 safety check !!

Congrats, and Hail Probe!

EDIT: This is better to have its own thread than become a topic here :P

Let's see how many people are with me on this:

I was just over on the Coldplay forums and saw a reference to the "bace" meme in someone's profile. Has that thing spread to other forums?
I used to go on Coldplay forums. I can assure you that it was not me, though.
