I divide my officers into four groups. There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and diligent -- their place is the General Staff. The next lot are stupid and lazy -- they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the intellectual clarity and the composure necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is stupid and diligent -- he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always cause only mischief.

Color photography is often assosiatred with post-WW2 world.
Sometimes there are poor color photos from slightly pre-WW2.

What about good color photos from late 19th and early 20th century?
Russian empire, between 1895 and 1915:

Amazing to think that this was made over a hundred years ago, and in such quality.

Wow. I didn't know that colour photography existed that early, but whatever process they are using to take them, it leaves a weird tint on a lot of the photos.

IIRC it's done with three different cameras, that take a red, blue and yellow image, then all three are layered together. Probably wrong, though.

Red, blue, and green, actually, but, given the artifacts I see in the photos and their age, I think that is the most likely case.

Actual color film wasn't available until several decades later.

If you look closely at certain photos, you'll notice that there are people who were present for one or two stages of the photo, but not for the rest. They show up as colored silhouettes.

Some more of the same, with a few repeats:

Chromatic aberration from age and misalignment.
These were made with a camera that shot three pictures successively through red, green and blue filters on a long black and white photographic plate.
To be viewed through a special tri-head projector.
As far as i know, there were no technology back them to print them.

Makes history feel real, unlike B&W ones.
Some of these pictures are timeless, they could have been made yesterday, could have been made a thousand years ago:

Amusing warning, for what is basically "Do not plan an actual mission with this software."

Does anybody here actually fall for/believe in [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odd_pricing"]Psychological pricing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] ?
All it does for me is annoy me and make me want to yell "Why bother!? Just make it $x!!!"

After my recent conversion, I think that I'd better make a pony related signature. Any suggestions?

A pony in some planetary landscape. ;)

Alternatively, Rarity being dragged across the forum by her horn.
Do it!

I think I have something else in mind, but it will not dissapoint.

In other news, I am the first person I know who has had to wear sunglasses inside to do homework. The sun just happens to come through my basement window at just the correct angle to hit the papers on my desk and shine in my face. And I thought writer's block made things hard enough.
